HRFA sponsored the Kabar Village Orchestra at the HRFA Kossuth House in partnership with the Hungarian Scouts in Exteris Extraordinary Hungarian Folk Music by 15 and 16 year old Hungarian Youth led by one adult violinist "The Kabar orchestra plays traditional Hungarian folk music. They are from Kazar, a small village near Salgótarján in Northern Hungary. The band was formed by students of the local Samuel Aba primary school in 2000. They are united by the love of Hungarian folk music and the joy of making music together. ... During the last five years they have collected the music from many Hungarian regions, including: Palóc, Kazar, Rimoc, Szatmar, South Alföld, Szék, Mezoseg, Kalotaszeg, Domahaz, Ordongosfuzes, and the like. Members of the band take great pleasure in learning from the original artists and so they spent 10 days in Erdély (Transylvania) in 2004. Since their formation, they have given regular local and regional concerts." More info on www.kabar.hu Page 27 Fraternity - Testvériség
