Unfortunately, however, due to inclement weather we were unable to accomplish as much as we had anticipated. Our enthusiasm for Join Hands Day was not dampened, and we will return again next year . A Várvölgyi Sportegyesület vezetősége nevében köszönetét mondok Bicsérdi Imre, Bicsérdi Imréné, Bicsérdi Norbert, Bicsérdi Tamás, Bicsérdi Gyula, Bicsérdi Gyuláné, Bicsérdi András, Bicsérdi Judit, Héder Ferencz, Héder Ferenczné, Héder Zoltán és Héder Adriennek a községnek és a focicsapatnak nyújtott munkájukért, melyben többek között elősegítették a várvölgyi sportpálya környékének rendbetételét, parkosítását. Várvölgyi SE Elnöke Miskolc, Hungary This is the third year in a row that our young members from Miskolc, Hungary, participated in Join Hands Day. The triplets Csaba, Laci and Norbert Zsebik; their cousin, Peter Zsebik; and their friend, Marton Tires, went to St. Vincent de Paul, a daycare home for the homeless, to clean up the premises and do all the necessary repair work. We are very pleased that these young people look forward to Join Hands Day each year, and this is what they have to say: “This project gives us a great deal of satisfaction because we feel that humanity is being helped with our volunteer efforts and the love in our hearts.” Below is also a letter of appreciation we received from the President of St. Vincent de Paul Society. Bihari Ferencné Elnök Várvölgy, Hungary Six young members of our Branch and their friends from Várvölgy, a small village near Lake Balaton, organized their first Join Hands Day project ever. Their plan was to improve a soccer field, which was badly neglected due to lack of funds. Since soccer is a very popular sport in Hungary, the villagers were miserable to see their youth play on such a bad field. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, the soccer field was beautifully restored. It was a unique and wonderful experience for the villagers to see volunteerism in action.
