Page 4 Fraternity- Testvériség INTRODUCING OUR NEW SECRETARY- TREASURER/CFO, Mr. Leslie László Megyeri I am pleased to be the new chief financial officer of HRFA since March 1, 2004. My association with the Federation dates back to the I960’s when my father purchased a policy that eventually and sadly enough paid for his funeral and provided financial support to me. I am especially proud that I am a full-time employee of the Federation and have an opportunity to meet and support Hungarian- Americans. I was born in Rozsnyó, Felvidék, which unfortunately is no longer part of Hungary. I escaped from Budapest in I956 because I participated in the Revolution. I spent 30 years on active duty and in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired with the rank of Colonel. My wife Kathy has been with me for over 35 years and is an asset to the Federation. She and I traveled to all of the District Meetings and were delighted to meet with so many of you. The 2003 annual statement is now available at the Home Office. If you have any questions concerning our assets and liabilities, reserves and surplus, please call me at 202-328-2630, ex. 16. I pledge to serve you to the best of my ability and bring credit to the Federation. My name is Silvia Fedor I joined the HRFA work staff January 5th, 2004 as the Pre-Need Coordinator. Pre- Need is a brand new product the HRFA is offering through funeral homes. It is also a new product that we believe will increase membership in the states that we are licensed to sell Pre-Need in (Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan) and for the future of HRFA to increase revenue. I have been with HRFA as a policy-holder since 1996. I belonged to the Hungarian Reformed Church in Columbus, OH, where I was part of the youth group, had my confirmation and attended Youth Camp for 3 years. Then I moved to New Jersey and went to church in Passaic, NJ. In August 1999, my family and I moved to Dallas, Texas, where I attended Southern Methodist University. I received an HRFA scholarship my junior year. I was very active in school, studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic and also had an internship in Budapest, Hungary at the Hungarian Parliament. Most recently, I moved to Herndon, Virginia beginning in January 2004, upon assuming my current position with HRFA. I am also continuing my education by taking night classes at Strayer University. I look forward to graduating with my second degree in Accounting in 2006 and then taking the Certified Public Accountant‘s Exam. I am very happy to be working for a wonderful organization whose people I believe in, and I know want the best for the future of HRFA. I enjoy working in Washington, D.C., the city where everything happens, and I look forward to the future success of HRFA! NEW OFFICE STAFF MEMBERS JOIN THE FEDERATION 6TH ANNUAL HRFA-BETHLEN HOME GOLF TOURNAMENT My name is Noemi Heilman I started to work for the HRFA on December 1, 2003 as the Secre- | tary to the President/CEO. I I worked five years in the Consular Section as a visa assistant. Then I became the secretary to the Consul General, and I worked in this position for two years. I met my American husband through work, and we decided to continue our life together. We were married last June and moved to the United States. This was a very difficult time in my life, leaving my loved ones, my friends and my job behind. Getting a job at HRFA helped me a lot in those difficult months.
