BETHLEN HOME CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS The long expected and long delayed construction of the new Bethlen Home got underway in the early spring. The quiet hillside of Mount Moriah is now filled with the sounds of earth- moving equipment and construction workers. It is anticipated that the construction will last until the early part of 2005 and the dedication of the new building will take place around the Easter holiday. This ceremony is in anticipation that if God in His grace will allow the present pace of the construction to continue as planned, the cornerstone laying will be connected with the opening exercises of the 37th Quadrennial Convention this coming September. On behalf of the Bethlen Home, we turn to the members and friends of the Federation and the Bethlen Home to offer their assistance to the fulfillment of this goal. The Bethlen Home has established a new program called the “Dawning of a New Day” which encourages both organizational and individual financial support from the greater American- Hungarian community toward the completion of the construction and the furnishing of the new Bethlen Home. If you can offer any assistance, please get in touch with the Executive Director of the Bethlen Home, the Rev. Imre A. Bertalan who can provide particular information on how you can be part of this new dream. Members of the Board of Directors of the Federation have already committed a great deal of financial assistance from making simple monetary donations to totally furnishing individual rooms named in their honor. No donation is either too small or too large. It is our hope that the motto recorded on the front cover from Endre Ady, the great Hungarian poet, will be realized by us all: “Great things were only accomplished when those who acted were brave.”
