FRATERNITY Page 23 Samaritan Purse Notation We wish to thank all who participated in the Christmas Shoe Box project this past Christmas. We understood from the project coordinator Franklin Graham that the boxes were going to the western part of Afghanistan. I am sure that the children’s hearts were filled with joy to see the contents of the boxes, and we pray that their hearts were somehow touched by the love of Christ. Christmas Party We held our annual Christmas party in December at the Flungarian Club of Elwood City. The Christmas Party of Branch 151 Julie DeSantes offered the opening prayer before lunch, thanking the Lord for this wonderful time of the year when we celebrate His birthday. We served pizza, pumpkin and banana breads, cookies and beverage. Kathy Douds, who is a juggler and balloon specialist, entertained and thrilled both children and parents with her talents. We handed out flyers on the HRFA and asked the parents to help us with our endeavors to increase membership. Ecumenical Service December’s Ecumenical Service was held at the Hungarian Calvin Reformed Church in Beaver Falls. Children presented the nativity play, organized by Arlene Csornán and narrated by Nadine Csornán. The children’s program at the Ecumenical service. Back row, 1. to r.: Imre Bertalan, Lauren Krawczak, Logan Krawczak, Otto Nagengast, Kathleen Kovács, and Hannah Csornán. Front row, 1. to r.: Ethan Kron, Alexa Campagna, Olivia Kron, and Jonah Kron. The presentation was beautiful and prepared our hearts for the celebration of the birth of our Lord; “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Rev. Imre A. Bertalan conducted the service in English and Hungarian. He reminded us of Christmas traditions of the past and the importance of keeping Christ in Christmas. We sang a moving round of Christmas carols. A delicious array of sandwiches, cheese platters, fruit, cookies, nut and poppy rolls were enjoyed. The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America and the William Penn Association sponsored the church service. Joe and Peg Fabri represented the HRFA at this special event. Welcome New Members!
