Page 4 TESTVÉRISÉG GIVING THANKS AT BETHLEN HOME “Praise the Lord, my soul! All my being, praise His holy name! Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget how kind He is. ” Psalm 103:1-2 These verses of Psalm 103, the beautiful psalm of thanksgiving, reflect one of the dominant themes in this, the SO"1 Anniversary Year of the Bethlen Home. We thank God for the people and the events of the past, and His presence with us over the years, and we thank God that He has granted Bethlen Home a vision for the future. As this wonderful anniversary year enters its last quarter, the Board of Directors, residents and staff of Bethlen Home wish to invite the Home’s many friends and supporters to two more occasions for giving thanks. The first of these occasions falls on Sunday and Monday, September 2nd and 3rd. On the evening of September 2nd, beginning at 6:00 p.m., the Hungarian folk music ensemble, Pallo, will perform in our picnic area for your listening and folk dancing pleasure, rain or shine. Those who were present in April at the concerts of the Partium University Choir, will remember Pallo as the folk music ensemble which played at the reception after the concert. For an admission price of $10.00 (Children 12 and under, members of Hungarian dance groups, $5.00), guests will enjoy a full picnic menu and wonderful entertainment. This is the evening of the annual meeting of the American Hungarian Reformed Presbyters Association. Presbyters attending the meeting are invited to the picnic and concert free of charge. On Monday, Labor Day, at 11:00 a.m., the annual worship service hosted by the Presbyters Association and the American Hungarian Reformed Ministerial Association will take place in the chapel at Bethlen Home. Immediately following the service, everyone present will be invited to Ligonier Gardens, the Bethlen Home’s recently acquired personal care facility. At 12:30 p.m., Bishops Sándor Forro and Louis Medgyesi, representing the Hungarian Reformed Church in America and the Calvin Synod Conference of the United Church of Christ respectively, will lead us in the service dedicating the Ligonier Gardens to the Glory of God and to the service of God’s children. The dedication service will be followed by a lunch served at Ligonier Gardens. The second big weekend will be on Saturday, October 27th. On this day, the Bethlen Home’s formal 80th Anniversary Celebration will take place. We are inviting former residents of the Orphanage for a reunion. We are also inviting the families of former Directors and staff members. There will be a Worship Service of Thanksgiving, followed by the Anniversary Banquet, which will be held at the Antiochian Center, 5 miles north of Ligonier on Rt. 711, at 6:00 p.m. Banquet ticket prices are $30.00 and can be purchased by calling the Bethlen Home office at 724-238-6711. Yes, in this 80th Anniversary Year, all our souls praise the Lord! We do not forget how kind He is! Áldjad lelkem az Urat, s ne feledd el, mennyi jót tett veled! ” (103 Zsoltár 1-2. verse) A 103—ik Zsoltár hálaadó versei szépen tükrözik a fennállásának 80. esztendejét ünnneplő BETHLEN OTTHON keresztyéni szolgálatát. Istennek adunk hálát a múltért, az előttünk járókért, az építő alkalmakért, azért, hogy az Úr velünk volt, és azért, hogy reményteljes jövőt ígér ennek az intézetnek. Amikor ünneplésünknek ez esztendő negyedik, utolsó szakaszához érünk, az intézet Igazgató Tanácsa, a lakók és az alkalmazottak szeretetteljes meghívással fordulnak az intézet barátaihoz és segítőihez, figyelmükbe ajánlva a két soron következő eseményt: Az első esemény, amelyre szeretettel hívunk és várunk, szeptember 2-án és 3~án, (vasárnap és hétfőn) délután 6 órai kezdettel a Bethlen Otthon piknikeket tartó térségében lesz, amikor is az Erdélyből érkező Palló népzene együttes fog játszani a táncmulatságon. Akik ez év áprilisában, amikor a Nagyváradi Pártiumi Keresztyén Egyetem kórusa amerikai körútja alkalmával jelen voltak az előadásukat követő mulatságon, emlékeznek a Palló együttesre, hiszen akkor is ők szolgáltatták a zenét. Belépőjegyként 10 dollárt kérünk. (12 éven aluli gyermekektől, s a csoportosan érkezőktől csak 5 dollárt.) A fent említett árban vendégeink számára teljes piknik-ellátást, valamint magyar népzenei szórakozást biztosítunk. Ezen a napon a Bethlen Otthonban tartja évi szokásos gyűlését az Amerikai Magyar Református Presbiteri Szövetség, amelynek résztvevőitől természetesen belépő jegyet nem kérünk.
