Student Aid and Loan Recipients Bryan M. Eldredge, member of Branch 35 studies business at Wayne State University and was recommended by Branch Manager Helen Szabó. Matthew A. Jacobson, member of Branch 176: “I am currently a junior at Purdue University, West Lafayette in the school of industrial engineering. As well as being enrolled as a full-time student, I am also involved in many campus activities. I am a member of the Phi Delta Theta international fraternity, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the National Society of Business Engineers. I have held several positions within my fraternity such as new member educator, social events chairperson, and head of new member recruitment. Through my fraternity, I have helped organize and participated in a charitable walk to raise money to help provide food for families of third world countries. The event titled “Hunger Hike” was put together in junction with the local Catholic church Saint Thomas Aquinas. The event helped raise over five thousand dollars to help relieve the food shortage in these countries. In addition to the Hunger Hike, I have volunteered on several weekends to assist the pastors in assembling and shipping care packages and relief supplies to the families in Haiti. In addition to these activities, in my spare time I actively participate in intramural athletics, enjoy lifting weights and restore classic automobiles. After graduating, I hope to get a job, start a family, and plan to start my own business by age thirty. I hope this short description gives you an idea of what kind of person I am both as a college student, as well as in the community and I would like to thank the Federation as well as you (Branch Manager Kati Mischak) for considering me for this scholarship.” Matthew was recommended by Branch Manager Kati Mischak. Imre Olajos, Jr., member of Branch 176 is pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Imre was recommended by Branch Manager Kati Mischak.
