FRATERNITY Page 33 formation technologies into teaching and research in the Humanities. Since my arrival to the U.S. in 1995, I have been involved with the activities of Branch 300 and the Home Office. I have helped with organizing the Branch picnics and meetings. In addition, I am the co-founder and co-direc- tor of the Kossuth House Social Club, the social and cultural wing of the branch. We have organized many quality events that not only brought the community together, but also got young people involved in the community and fraternal life and promoted the branch and the Federation to the local community. Having built out links with other Hungarian organizations and governmental agencies in the U.S. and around the globe, the Kossuth House today is a well-recognized symbol of Hungarian- American culture and community life. I have also been an active member of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Washington. For the last year, I have served as a presbyter (elder) in our church. In addition, I am responsible for the maintenance of the Church Website, which I created for announcing the church services over the Internet. As a result, our congregation now includes many new young members. The generous HRFA support will enable me to carry on my studies and concentrate on my dissertation, as well as contribute to the costs of a major conference overseas where I could not only represent the university, but also my country and my fraternal family. Thank you again. Sándor was recommended by Branch Manager Teri Pflum. The HRFA’s Student Aid and Loan program would not be possible without the generous donations given by our members. To date, over $114,000 has been given to young members of the Federation to apply to the costs of their studies, thanks to the support of such individuals as Mrs. Grace Drudi, who shares with us her feelings toward the HRFA in the following letter: Dear Mr. Endre Csornán, I am enclosing my insurance certificate and my signed request, that the beneficiary should be the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. Please use it towards a scholarship for a dedicated Christian student(s). I am enclosing an extra five hundred dollars to it and want it awarded in loving memory of my dear husband, Valentine Drudi, who was called to his heavenly home on Feb. 22, 1999. Also, I would like to send an additional two thousand dollars, which I would like to be used in loving memory of my very dear mother and father, who had been called home for their heavenly rewards many years ago. Father’s name: Martha Ferencz-Windber, PA Bom in Fényes Litke, Szabolcs megye in 1877, died in 1935. Mother’s name: Hegedűs Mária Bom in Csap, Ung megye in 1888, died in 1956. (Emlékük feledhetetlen-Álmaik legyen csendes) My dear father was branch president of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America and very proud to represent them! May God continue to richly bless the HRFA! With Christian Love, Mrs. Grace Drudi ^fPewüA ouw Q/ííemÁe^á and a nwy, fi/eaáantj cmd áunvmew.
