The Federation supplied the turkeys, and in addition to the Branch’s purchases, our church members donated many things such as canned goods, paper products, candy, and juices. We also sent a donation to the “Flood Fund” to help those in Hungary who were recently affected by the unprecedented amount of rainfall which caused so much damage. New Business: We made a Christmas donation to the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne. We are so fortunate to have the availability of the Church’s social hall for our meetings, picnics and Christmas parties. Several of our members visited shut-ins at Glenshire Woods and Southwestern Health Center. Get well cards were sent to our sick members. Election of Officers: With the slate of officers being given as: Marion Nagy, President; William Nagy, Vice President; Julia Nagy, Secretary; and Olga Darnay, Treasurer, this slate was unanimously elected. Meeting was adjourned at 1:00 p.m. so we could have our Christmas party. Julia Nagy, Branch Secretary Olga Darnay, Branch Manager/Treasurer (412)466-2710 Branch 151, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania The officers and members of Branch 151 held a Hungarian picnic on June 6,1999 to honor our HRFA and its commitment to fratemalism. The menu consisted of gulyás prepared by National Secretary Endre Csornán, káposztás galuska, Hungarian kolbász and a szalonna sütés. A nice variety of Hungarian pastries was donated by our members. We were fortunate that we had sunny weather; however, the heat was uncomfortable to say the least. Nevertheless, it was good for business because all of our cold drinks were consumed. The atmosphere was lively due to musical groups from Youngstown and Ambridge. Our friends came from all over the tri-state area including Youngstown, Sharon, McKeesport, Ambridge, Pittsburgh, Ligonier, Duquesne and Carmichael. A novelty at our picnic was a craft table for children. There were edible necklaces made from fruit loops, and face painting was by Wanda Bain. We provided the children with a free meal. Our gratitude to the following officers and members who made this picnic such a success: Peg and Joe Fabri, Kati and Eddie Kovács, Alex Varady, Elizabeth Rezes, Julia Csornán, Butch and Nadine Csornán, Alan and Shaunte Csornán, Arlene and Endre Csornán, and Renee Maldonato. Special thanks to the bakers: Elizabeth Rezes, Helen Wilson, Katica Kovács, Peggy Fabri, Julia Desantes, Renee Maldonato, Elizabeth Miskolczi, Anna Miscolcze, Renee, Arlene and Nadine Csornán.
