We are grateful to God for good friends, willing hands and kind hearts. This is the help we can all provide on our own since our members are so scattered. Each person in our group is faithful to his or her commitment. Having discussed all matters, the meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m. Irene Sinclair, Branch Manager (724)377-2345 Branch 176, Gary, Indiana The annual meeting of the Branch was opened with a prayer by Father Skerl on January 9,1999 at 6:30 p.m. Minutes of the previous meting and Treasurer’s report were accepted by all members present. Officers elected for 1999 were: Steven Mischak, President; Anna Csemak, Vice President; Clare Tothfalusi, Treasurer; and Helen Fogorassy, Secretary. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. Refreshments were offered by the Kossuth Club. The Kossuth Club of Northwest Indiana, East Chicago The Social Club of the HRFA March 21,1999 The Kossuth Club invited a traveling group of Hungarian entertainers to “Our Lady of Consolation Church” in Crown Point, Indiana. We were acquainted with the beautiful voices of Lajos Lente of the Hungarian Radio and Television and Eva Vallay of the Hungarian Radio, since we had already hosted them in 1995 and 1997. Primas Albert Balogh played the violin and István Katona the keyboard. Both mastered their instruments beautifully. The motto of this afternoon of delightful entertainment was “Mindenki kedvére szól a nóta.” The proceeds of the evening went to the group. Our reward was that we all benefited from a cultural event that enriched our lives. Our appreciation goes to Father Joseph Vámos and to our volunteers who helped make this Sunday afternoon successful.
