Page 16 TESTVÉRISÉG Branch 22, Youngstown, Ohio Meeting of Branch 22 was held on January 17,1999. Discussion evolved concerning the alliance with the Catholic Knights of America. More information on this subject will be available at future Branch meetings. The following activities for the year were discussed: ♦ August 8,1999: Hungarian Day at the Hungarian Club. ♦ September 9,1999: Hungarian Heritage Day at the Hungarian Club. ♦ September 18,1999: Bacon Fry at the Church Our Branch will be glad to help at any Church functions. Results of the election of officers for 1999 were as follows: Stephen Szabó, President; Tim S. Morey, Vice President; and Patricia M. Morey, Secretary-Treasurer. Patricia M. Morey, Branch Manager/ Secretary-T reasurer (330)758-2971 Branch 31, Lorain, Ohio The annual meeting of Branch 31 was held January 24, 1999. It was opened with a prayer by Roberta Aros, Branch President. Minutes were read and accepted. The Secretary-Treasurer reported on the volunteer activities, contributions and support to the local churches and charitable organizations. Donations were made to the Bethlen Home, Student Aid Fund and the Bethlen Home Activity Fund. Branch members Jennifer Perritt and Jessica Rico were recipients of the student aid scholarships of the HRFA. Sarah Fortner attended camp in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. She was given a check by the Federation to help pay for expenses at camp. The 1999 International Festival of Lorain County featured the Hungarian Nationality and Heritage. Local Hungarian churches and organizations participated in the festival held in June. Officers elected for 1999 were: Roberta Aros, President; Teresa Simone, Vice President; and Sharon Pennington, Secretary-Treasurer. Emma Aros, Branch Manager (440)282-8700 Branch 62, East Chicago, Indiana Maria Kovács, Branch Manager, opened the annual meeting on January 9,1999 at 7:00 p.m. Father Skerl offered the opening prayer. The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as read. The Treasurer’s report was also accepted by all present. Topics concerning new business were discussed; however, no decisions were made at this time. Activities for 1999 will include entertainment programs for young and old. Branch officers elected for 1999 were: Tivadar Horzsa, President; David Sisak, Vice President; Joseph Kovács, Treasurer; and Gizella Lengyel, Secretary. Following adjournment at 10:00 p.m., refreshments were offered by the Kossuth Club. A warm welcome is extended to one of our newest members: Alexandra M. Saliba, bom on October 16,1998 in Houston, Texas. Alexandra is the granddaughter of Mary Szilagyi, longtime member of Branch 62. We wish God’s richest blessings on Alexandra and her family. Maria Kovács, Branch Manager (219)756-3102 Branch 67, Sharon, Pennsylvania The meeting was held on January 21,1999 at 7:30 p.m. It was called to order by Branch President William Szuch. Mr. John A. Palisin Branch Vice President offered the opening prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. In discussion, members decided to continue to support the Bethlen Home, the Home Activity Fund, the Student Aid & Loan Fund of the HRFA, and any other HRFA fraternal affairs in the Pittsburgh area. A new fraternal activity planned fori 999 is the golf tournament to be held in July. All members of the Branch are kindly requested to support this effort and help make it a success. Helen Szuch, Branch Manager/Secretary-Treasurer (724)342-2946 Branch 80, Perth Amboy, New Jersey The annual meeting of Branch 80 was held on December 27, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Stefan M. Torok offered the opening prayer. It was reported that members of the Branch visited with church members for Christmas caroling. Branch members also sent cards to sick members and shut-ins. The meeting also took the occasion to celebrate the 15th wedding anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. Stefan Torok. God bless this married couple and give them many more years of joy and happiness together. Officers elected for 1999 were: Rev. Stefan M. Torok, President; Ceil St. Miklosy, Vice President; Mark Banyacski, Treasurer; and George Kampó, Secretary.
