FRATERNITY Page 15 C^dwarncJi C ewd Branch 4, Cleveland, Ohio The annual Branch meeting was held on January 9, 1999 at 2:30 p.m. Jolán Abel and Susan Szabó opened the meeting. Prayer was offered by John Sedensky. Miklós Szabó read the minutes of the previous meeting, and Jolán Abel read the Treasurer’s report. Both minutes and report were accepted as read. A minute of silent prayer was held for deceased member Sándor Szabó. January birthdays of Ilona Palokyi and László Meszlenyi were announced. Election of Branch Officers followed. Elected were: Susan J. Szabó, President; Eva Menyhárt, Vice President; Jolán Abel, Treasurer; and Miklós Szabó, Sr., Secretary. The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m. Jolán Abel, Branch Manager/Vice President (216)524-7439 Branch 13, Boonton, New Jersey The annual meeting of Branch 13 was held on February 6, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. Branch President Zoltán Simon offered the opening prayer. Branch activities reported for 1998/99 included a graduation dinner held in honor of Zoltán Simon, Jr., who graduated May 17,1998 from Fairfield University in Connecti­cut with a BS degree; the marriage of Zoltán Simon, Sr. to Branch Manager Ilona Toth on April 30, 1998; and the very beautiful and successful Museum Ball organized by Branch members Mr. and Mrs. Kalman Magyar on January 30,1999. The Garfield Hungarian Club expressed its appreciation to Zoltán Simon, Sr., for helping them secure a mortgage loan from the HRFA. Branch Officers elected for 1998 were: Zoltán Simon, President; Zoltán Simon, Jr., Vice President; Beata Straubinger, Treasurer; and Ambrus Noelle, Secretary. The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 p.m. with a closing prayer by the Branch President. Ilona Toth, Branch Manager (973)402-7769 Branch 17, South Bend, Indiana The meeting of the Branch was held on January 9, 1999, at 6:30 p.m. Branch President László Hunyady opened the meeting with a prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting and Treasurer’s report were accepted as read. Results of the election of officers for 1999 were as follows: László Hunyady, President; Joseph Kovács, Vice President; and Enikő Hunyadi, Treasurer-Secretary. Following adjournment at 8:15 p.m., refreshments were offered by the Hunyadi family. Magdolna Hunyadi, Branch Manager (219)233-5285 Branch 21, Toledo, Ohio Branch 21 held its annual meeting on February 21, 1999 at Calvin United Church of Christ. A luncheon preceded the meeting. Secretary John Bistayi read the minutes of the last meeting, and Lou Kozma, Treasurer, presented the financial report. Both were approved as presented. Election of officers was held with the present officers being reelected. They are: Mary Bacho, President; Mitzi King, Vice President; John Bistayi, Secretary; and Lou Kozma, Treasurer. Rev. Imre Bertalan greeted and welcomed those in attendance and announced that the next convention would be held in Toledo in September 2000 and that we would be serving as hosts. The convention hotel will be the Windham. Reverend Bertalan updated members and explained that in about two months three new policies will be offered. We will be kept updated as to when applications will be accepted. At the beginning of this year, the officers decided that we would initiate a $3,000 20-Pay Life policy for any child baptized in Calvin United Church of Christ. We would pay for this for the first two years, then turn the premium notices over to the parents. The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m. with a prayer by Reverend Bertalan. Hope is the granddaughter of Branch Manager Mary Bacho; and Nicholas Zigmond Kozma, grandson of our Treasurer Lou Kozma. May God richly bless the lives of Hope and Nicholas.
