Page 8 TESTVÉRISÉG Bethlen Home Strategic Planning Continues The Strategic Planning Committee of the Bethlen Home greets the reader in the name of the Lord! We appreciate this opportunity to update the HRFA family on the current progress being made in preparing the Bethlen Home facility and program for its mission in the 21st Century. On July 16lh the full Board of Directors of the Bethlen Home will be meeting in Ligonier for a time of important decision making. The Board will be asked to officially ratify a new set of By-Laws for the Bethlen Home. The new By-Laws will provide for a streamlined and more involved Board of Directors. The new By-Laws will also call once again for the position of Executive Director of the Bethlen Home. The Executive Director and the Nursing Home Administrator working together will provide the increased leadership necessary for the expanding mission of the Bethlen Home. The Board of Directors showed strong support for the new By- Laws through a proxy vote taken several weeks ago. Another important decision facing Board members will be to authorize the next phase of planning for the new nursing home/assisted living independent living complex. We have reached the point of schematic design for the new facility. If everything goes smoothly, construction of the new facility could begin as early as the fall of 2000. What an exciting way to begin the new millennium! Board members will also be updated on the most recent market analysis, which included phone call surveys and focus group discussion. Preliminary results of the analysis indicated that there is a potentially strong future market for the Bethlen Home as a retirement and retreat center. The Strategic Planning Committee is particularly concerned that the needs and priorities of the Hungarian Reformed Churches and of the larger American-Hungarian community be included in the vision and mission of the 21s1 Century Bethlen Home. Currently, members of the Strategic Planning Committee are Mr. Les Martin, Co-Chairperson and Secretary, Mr. George Dózsa, Mr. Joseph Fabri, Rev. Paul Kovács, Mr. László Lipoczky, Mr. John K. Morey, Rev. Nicholas Novak, William B. Puskas, Jr., Esq. and Rev. Zoltán D. Szűcs. I thank each of these committee members for their strong commitment to the project. If the reader has any questions concerning the Bethlen Home Strategic plan, please contact me at (419) 691 -3033. We all, in turn, thank God for His blessing and His presence! The committee’s highest priority continues to be the understanding of God’s vision and plan for the Bethlen Home. He is the chief Architect and Planner. All glory and all praise be to Him! Rev.
