I FRATERNITY Page 19 The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read as was the Treasurer’s report. It was reported that, as is tradition, carnations were presented to all ladies attending church services on Mother’s Day. This is a branch activity which is shared with the Brotherhood of the Hungarian Reformed Church, So. Norwalk, Connecticut. In an unprecedented gesture, the members who were present at this meeting generously donated $10.00 each in order to boost the treasury of Branch 52. The branch planned a trip to Atlantic City on Saturday, May 16, 1998, and all members and friends were encouraged to attend. Donations were made as follows: Hungarian Reformed Church, So. Norwalk, Connecticut, a Christmas gift of $25.00; Sunday School of the Hungarian Reformed Church, a gift of $25.00. The officers elected for 1998 were: Ernest P. Virgulák, President; Joseph Lucskay, Vice President; Joseph Singola, Treasurer; Helen E. Sontra, Recording Secretary. Congratulations were extended to Linda and David VanBuskirk on their 25th wedding anniversary. Linda is the Manager of Branch 52. Members who were present were reminded that both the Branch Manager and the Branch President are licensed agents with the HRFA and that they are always ready to assist all branch members with their insurance needs or inquiries. Refreshments were served following the meeting. There being no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 3:45 p.m. Helen E. Sontra, Recording Secretary Mr. Joseph Lucskay Celebrates 50 Years as Choir Director of the South Norwalk Hungarian Reformed Church L. to r.: Chief Elder Frank A. Dudás, Joseph Lucksay, Rev. We are thankful to Mr. Joseph Lucskay, long-time member of the Federation and Vice President of our Branch, for his faithful and dedicated services as choir director of the South Norwalk Hungarian Reformed Church for 50 years. Mr. Lucskay has been Choir Director of the South Norwalk Hungarian Reformed Church since 1948 and Organist since February 1949. He was bom in Norwalk, and his parents - Mary Vitányi and Stephen Lucskay - were among the founding fathers of the Church in South Norwalk. For his selfless devotion to the Church and its members, Mr. Lucskay was presented with a plaque and gift on March 8, 1998 by the congregation at a reception in his honor. BRANCH 54 - PUNXUTAWANEY - PENNSYLVANIA The following branch officers were elected for 1998: Beverly London, President; George Roney, Vice President; Bernadette Roney, Treasurer; Margaret Roney, Secretary. Elected were: László Hunyadi, President; Sándor Lengyel, Vice President; Joseph Kovács, Treasurer; Margaret Balogh, Secretary. A warm welcome is extended to our two youngest members Julia and Kellyn Vale, who are twin sisters, born in Crown Point, Indiana on September 27, 1996.
