Page 8 TESTVÉRISÉG /mn<Á oA&t ewá BRANCH 4 - CLEVELAND, OHIO The annual meeting of our branch was held at Susan Szabo’s home on February 16, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. Branch Manager Jolán Abel opened the meeting and her husband Joe offered the prayer. The officers elected for 1997 are: Susan Szabó, President; Julie Leszko, Vice President; Jolán Abel, Treasurer; Eva Menyhárt, Secretary. Among the topics discussed was the Federation’s anniversary certificate, which provides $3,000 extra life insurance up to age 70. Dates for a card party, a picnic and the Christmas party have yet to be set. Last year’s Christmas party of the combined Ohio branches was a huge success. It was attended by 22 children ranging from ages 2 to 10. The card party was also well attended. One of our fraternal projects for this year will center around the needs of our elderly members. Ed Bihary and Santa Christmas Party of the Combined Branches of Ohio Branches 2, 4 and 352 had a very successful Christmas Party held at the Bethlen Hall of the First Hungarian Reformed Church, Walton Hills. We hosted 22 children and as many adults. The children enjoyed a craft session and made reindeer decorated paper bags. They also decorated all the Christmas cookies. There is no real Christmas Party without Santa, who made his appearance, handed out gifts and had his photo taken with the children. Refreshments and home made cookies were served. Our sincere thanks to Susan Szabó for her hard work and great imagination. The Secretary presented a report on the 35th Convention of the Federation. She then gave an account of the contributions the branch made in 1996 to the local churches, charitable organizations, HRFA student aid fund, the Bethlen Home, and of her participation as a volunteer at the Anchor Lodge Nursing Home during the Christmas Holidays. Food for the needy is a project faithfully supported by us. Officers elected for 1997 are: Roberta Aros, President; Teresa Simone, Vice President; Emma Aros, Treasurer- Secretary. NORWALK, CONNECTICUT The annual branch meeting was held at the home of Ernest and Suzanne Virgulák on November 3, 1996 at 2:45 p.m. It was opened with a prayer by Branch President Ernest P. Virgulák. Minutes of the previous meeting and the Treasurer’s report were approved as read.
