Page 28 TESTVÉRISÉG The picture shows the Memorial Day wedding of Kathy Irwin and Ted Caras III, son of branch members Ted and Janet Caras, Jr. Rev. Rufus Peer of Latrobe Christian Church performed the wedding in the Snowflake Chapel built in memory of their daughter, Susan, who was killed in an automobile accident in 1987. The groom is a descendant of the Mohawk Indians, and his attire was a native American costume belonging to one of his ancestors. Congratulations to the young couple. Edith Kovács, Branch Manager BRANCH 202 - DUQUENSE, PA BRANCH 198 - LIGONIER, PA The delegate election meeting of Branch 198 was held in the dining room of the Bethlen Home on May 31, 1996, 1:30 P.M. Since the Branch President, Rev. Paul Kovács, was not present, Esther Berkey was requested to act as host. Rev. Nicholas Novak, Director and Official Observer, offered the opening prayer. He stated in a short speech that he was pleasantly surprised at the large turnout. Elected were: Edith Kovács, delegate; Klara Vitanza, first alternate; Esther Berkey, second alternate. Following the meeting, refreshments were enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Tibor Nagy invited the members of Branch 182 for the Delegate Election Meeting. Also on the photo (r.) BRANCH 197 - SPRINGDALE, PA A special meeting of Branch 197 was postponed from May 5, 1996 as published in the Fraternity to May 25, 1996 because of the illness of Branch Manager Joseph Berei. An ad was placed in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette to inform all members of this change. However, a quorum was not present on May 25, and the meeting was held on June 1, 1996 at the residence of Joseph Berei, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. by Joseph R. Berei who welcomed all present. An opening prayer was given by Maria Berei. Elected were: Maria Berei, delegate; Joseph R. Berei, first alternate; Ethel Fontana, second alternate. All members were invited by Joseph Berei to stay for a bacon fry, kolbász and Hungarian goulash. Maria Berei, Branch Secretary The special meeting was held at the residence of Branch Manager Mitzi Wigand in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on April 21, 1996, 2:00 P.M. It was opened with a prayer by Mrs. Wigand and a moment of silence was held in memory of members who had recently passed away. Mrs. Wigand was the only candidate and received eleven votes from the eleven members in attendance. No other member desired to be elected as alternate. Membership in the Federation was discussed and members were told to talk to friends and relatives regarding their insurance. A trip is planned to visit members and friends at the Bethlen Home and the local nursing homes. Refreshments were served and the meeting adjourned at 2:45 P.M.
