FRATERNITY Page 23 Mr. and Mrs. Louis Demjen, a happily married couple for 50 years. Congratulations to Youngstown native father-son, John K. Morey and Tim Morey, for bowling a perfect game of 300. John is a Vice-President on the Board of Directors of the HRFA. BRANCH 31 - LORAIN, OH At the delegate election meeting of Branch 31 held at the Hungarian Reformed Church, Lorain, Ohio, Sunday, May 19, 1996, thirty-nine eligible voting members registered. Therefore, according to the By-Laws of the HRFA, the quorum was met, and the meeting was called to order at 2:25 P.M. by the Branch President Roberta K. Aros. The meeting was opened with a prayer by Rt. Rev. Zoltán Szucs. The President gave the statement of the agenda for the meeting. The first order of business was to elect delegates and alternates to the convention of the HRFA. Elected were: Emma Aros and Richard W. Aros, delegates; Roberta K. Aros, first alternate; Ed Molnár second alternate; Barbara Szucs third alternate. The meeting was closed with a prayer by Rt. Rev. Szucs at 3:20 P.M. Following the meeting, refreshments were served. Emma Aros, Secretary-Treasurer and Branch Manager BRANCH 33 - NEWARK, NJ The delegate election meeting of Branch 33 and 144 for the 35th Quadrennial Convention, 1996 was held on April 17, 1996 at 7:20 P.M. at Travel Guide, Clark, New Jersey. There were 18 adult voting members present from Branch 33 and no adult voting members present from Branch 144. The number of voting members was sufficient to constitute a quorum. Michael Pauli, Jr., Official Observer, and Margaret Pauli were also attending. With all members duly signed in, President Margaret Erdei opened the meeting with a most beautiful and appropriate prayer. In the absence of Branch Secretary Peggy Hempel, President Erdei requested that Margaret Pauli, St. George District Manager, act as recording secretary for the meeting. Since there was no member of Branch 33 willing to accept the responsibility, Margaret agreed to help. At this time, Fred Erdei, Area Manager and member of Branch 33, explained the matters to be voted upon and discussed. Elected were: Margaret Erdei, delegate; David Toth, alternate. Meeting ended at 8:05 P.M. with President Margaret Erdei leading in prayer. Margaret Pauli for Peggy Hempel, Secretary BRANCH 35 - DETROIT, MI Branch 35 held its special meeting on April 13, 1996 at the American Hungarian Reformed Church of Allen Park, Michigan. The purpose of the meeting was to elect delegates to 35th Convention of the HRFA. There being 37 members present, Branch President Amalia Kulcsár declared a quorum. Branch President Kulcsár called the meeting to order at 1:20 P.M. Director Samuel Vespremi was the Official Observer. Elected were: Louise Vespremi and Ethel Teghze Gerber, delegates; Amalia Kulcsár, first alternate; Julius Dazy, second alternate. The meeting adjourned at 2:10 P.M. We are saddened at the passing away of Ida Kish, a longtime member of the Federation, and we wish to express our deepest sympathy to her son James Kish and his family. Get well wishes go to Bill Kocsis who has been ill for sometime, and to Louise Hanna who underwent surgery recently. Louise Vespremi, Secretary-Treasurer BRANCH 45 - ELIZABETH, NJ The delegate election meeting was called to order by Branch President Albert Putnoky on May 19, 1996,2:00 P.M. Mr. Michael Pauli Jr., Official Observer, and Mrs. Margaret Pauli were present. Elected were: Rev. Ambrose Batiz, delegate. There was no voting for alternate delegate. The meeting ended at 2:30 P.M. Helen Putnoky, Branch Manager-Secretary BRANCH 50 - BUFFALO, NY The delegate election meeting of Branch 50 was scheduled for April 14, 1996 at 11:30 A.M. Since the quorum was not met, the meeting reconvened on April 21,1996 at 11:30 A.M. in the Social Hall of the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church in Buffalo, New York.
