BRANCH 22—YOUNGSTOWN, OH The Annual Winter Festival was held on Sunday, February 24, 1991, at the Calvin Center Auditorium of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, OH. Branch Manager Patricia Morey was on the bazaar committee which helped plan the event and the work in the kitchen. Approximately 275-300 chicken-dinners were served. Many members of the branch helped with the various activities during the bazaar which included baking, cooking, noodle-making, selling crafts and bingo. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the fellow­ship of the day. Also, everyone is looking forward to our annual Spring Bazaar which will be held on May 5, 1991. At a meeting held on February 24, 1991, the following officers were elected: Stephen J. Szabó, III, President; John K. Morey, Vice President; Patricia M. Morey, Treasurer-Secretary Patricia Morey, Branch Manager BRANCH 31-LORAIN, OH Branch 31 held their meeting on January 27, 1991 to elect officers for 1991. Officers elected were: Roberta Aros, President; Teresa Simone, Vice President and Emma Aros, Secretary-Treasurer. Report of activities was made. Dawn Salva received student aid and sent a letter of great appreciation for the generous gift. She is a student at the University of California. Contributions were made to the Bethlen Home Cancer Society & Salvation Army. Wakes and funeral services were attended for eight deceased members of Branch 31. Memorial gifts were sent to the Bethlen Home, Hungarian Church, St. Vincent De Paul and Congregational Church. Get well cards were sent to shut-ins. Visits to nursing home patients were made and flowers were given to patients at Easter and Christmas. Vice President Teresa Simone is very active in a Catholic mission group. She helps prepare and serve food for the poor. Contributions to Food for the Needy are made by the officers each month. The next meeting is scheduled for June 23, 1991 at 2:30 p.m. at the Aros residence on 4125 Edgewood Dr., Lorain. Emma Aros, Secretary-Treasurer/Branch Manager BRANCH 35—DETROIT, Ml A meeting was held on February 10, 1991, at the Branch Office in Lincoln Park, MI. The meeting was called to order by President Samuel Vespremi at 2:10 p.m. A total of 20 members were present, which was a very nice turnout for a Sunday afternoon. A minute of silent prayer was held for the deceased members of the Branch and also for Margaret Kosa Bertalan. They are in God's care — peace be with you dear members. Roll call of officers was read by the Secretary. All officers were present with the exception of Vice President the Rev. Imre A. Bertalan, who was excused. The President asked the Secretary to read the minutes of the last meeting. The minutes were accepted as read by Amy Kulcsár and signed by Helen Faragó. The Treasurer's report was presented by James Kish, whose health is building up slowly. The President made a motion that a memorial gift be given from the Branch for the Margaret Kosa Bertalan Fund; motion was granted. President Samuel Vespremi brought up the scholar­ship fund and the membership drive.
