FRATERNITY Page 11 The communities of Perth Amboy and Woodbridge, NJ, joined together to organize lodging, special activities and sightseeing (Maria Poes in Matawan, NJ) for the children. There were two beautiful performances — one being in St. Michael's Byzantine church where the atmosphere was more intimate because it provided an opportunity for host families and members of the parish to take part in a special performance in the church sanctuary. The children received T-shirts and other small gifts. Father Basil Rakaczky and HRFA- Director Michael Pauli initiated the involvement by the church and the St. George District of the HRFA (Br. 501). At the Hungarian-American Citizens Club of Woodbridge, Rose Pluhar, Helen Duska and members of the club provided a wonderful dinner for the children. The attendance at the concert was simply extraordinary. The afternoon-concert in Washington, D.C., held in the beautiful Gaston Hall of Georgetown University, was for the benefit of the Sárospatak School in Hungary. This concert was primarily coordinated by Mrs. Ildikó Berger, Mr. Charles Teleki, Chairman, and members of the HRFA staff. On the following day, Mrs. Ildikó Berger and Mrs. Maria Toth (Br. 300), escorted the children on a sightseeing tour. In the Pittsburgh area, the children were hosted by the William Penn Association at their fraternal facility, the Scenic View. The young boys were up at dawn to try out their new fishing poles together with conductor Nándor Toth. After a few polaroid photos, they were happy to throw their small catch back into the water. A successful concert was held in co-operation with the Pennsylvania Ethnic Heritage Studies Department of the University of Pittsburgh.
