exhibited are photography by Cornell and Robert Capa, woodcut prints by Joseph Domajan, paintings by Steven Dohanos and Joseph Csatari, traditional folk art and needlework by Ilona Asboth and Terezia László and works by artist and folk artist Evelyn Dómján. The exhibit continues until October 21 and is open from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

At the dedication, representatives of many religious and civic groups addressed the assembled, including the Hungarian Roman Catholic Churches and clergy, Hungarian Reformed Church in America, Calvin Conference-United Church of Christ, World Federation of Hungarian Jews and other ethnic groups including representatives of Polish and Estonian groups, and the New Jersey Governor's Ethnic Advisory Council.

Ethel Hutka Coache, of Clinton, New Jersey, said she came to the dedication of the Hungarian Heritage Center, because she has been trying to learn more about her Hungarian heritage in the past few years. "I got cheated because my parents wanted to be American and they would not teach me to speak Hungarian," said Coache, who is now taking lessons in the language several times a week.

The Library and Archival collections of the Center and the American Hungarian Foundation totals more than 30,000 volumes. The Library collection of the Foundation is an Affiliate Library of Rutgers University and thus the Library's holdings are integrated into the national Research Libraries Information Network data base.

Museum exhibits planned for the Heritage Center will also relate the contributions of musicians, artists, scientists, businessmen and women, athletes of Hungarian background, tell the story of the Hungarian communities in America and of American Hungarians in all walks of life since 1776.

Various rooms and portions of the Hungarian Hertage Center/Museum, Library and Archives may be named and designated by major donors.
