Resolution 10: The Board of Directors be granted the cost of living increase as specified by the Federa­tion's By-Laws. Resolution 11: Mr. Puskas presented an outline for a sales contest for this year. This contest would be based upon both sales and new members. The initial contest would cover the period of January 1 to August 31, 1989. Other contests will be determined by the Field Force Committees. Anyone fulfilling the follow­ing two requirements would be eligible for the awards: (1) $1,000.00 in new annual premiums—$100 bonus and (2) 10 new members—$100 bonus. The awards would be presented at the training meeting in September 1989. The Committee recommends ap­proval of this contest. Resolution 12: With the addition that the $24,000 donation to the Bethlen Home of Ohio be shown on the budget for 1989 and not in Annual Statement like the Bethlen Home of Ligonier, PA donation. Treasurer presented the proposed budget for 1989, which was thoroughly reviewed by the Committee. Mr. Puskas explained the reasons for the variances from last year's budget. These explanations were accepted as reason­able adjustments. The budget is referred to the Board for review, with the recommendation that it be approved as presented. Resolution 13: Social Membership: That this be initiated in those areas where there is an active branch life, i.e. regular meetings, active involvement in benevolent/civic affairs, possibility of organizing tours and travel programs, etc. with the addition that no admittance be made for social membership until the guideline for membership rights are finalized. That the membership dues be $10.00 per person/year, and the member be put on the mailing list (Fraternity). That the signed membership cards be kept on file in the Home Office-copy on file with the respective local branch. Resolution 14: Directors' Responsibilities: That branches be assigned to the care of the respective Directors, with specific emphasis on branch activities. In this crucial year that Directors also be responsible for production ($50,000 face value per Director) and for finding new agents in their areas. Resolution 15: That seed-money be allocated to branches on a one-time basis. Resolution 16: Student Aid: The resolution of the Convention was to increase the grant to $500. The Committee recommends to implement this resolution when there are sufficient funds available for this pur­pose. Visitors at the future site of the Bethlen Home. From l. to r.: Rev. Z. The following are recommendations to increase the fund: a-One time gift from the HRFA that the Executive Committee work out the details for the September Board of Directors meeting for action. b-Individual donations to be solicited and branch activities be held to support the fund. c-That a request should be made to the Board of Directors of the Bethlen Home of Ligonier for a one­time donation. Against: Rev. L. Medgyesi Resolution 17: That the Ohio Directors be members of the Board of Trustees of the Bethlen Home of Ohio. All three national officers to be members of said organization. That progress reports be given periodi­cally to the Directors of the Bethlen Home of Ligonier. Yes: 5 No: 6 Abstained: 1 — Resolution defeated. Resolution 18: That the HRFA and the William Penn Association agree to cooperate in exploring ways of bringing the American-Hungarian Community to­gether to create a united represenation of that com­munity. Resolution 19: That the weekend following the Board of Directors fall meeting be used for training and meeting of the Field Force Committee. That the field force training be held in the respective districts twice a year, as called by the President, in concurrence with the National Officers and Area Directors. Resolution 20: "The attorneys of the HRFA, Bethlen Home of Ligonier, Bethlen Home of Ohio plus one member of the Executive Committee, one member of the Board of Managers of the Bethlen Home of Ligonier and one member of the Board of Trustees of the Bethlen Home of Ohio meet and study the legal situation between the said corporations and make recommendations, if necessary, for the By-Law amendments."
