The members have spent many years researching, studying and performing folk dance on stages, but they feel equally at home at a country wedding. Most of the dancers are decorated Folk Artists. Their lead folk singer is Marta Sebestyen. Endre Csornán, Vice President of the HRFA, came to this performance along with a few of his friends from Branch 151 in Pittsburgh. Many members of our branch were present. The program was enjoyed by all. On January 22, 1989, a meeting was held for the election of branch officers. Elected were: Stephen J. Szabó III, President; John K. Morey, Vice President; Patricia M. Morey, Secretary-Treasurer. ]ohn K. Morey, Branch Manager BRANCH 31-LORAIN, OH The meeting of Branch 31 on January 22, 1989 was opened with a prayer by Roberta Aros, President. She requested a moment of silent prayer for the members who passed away in 1988. A memorial gift was sent to the Bethlen Home in memory of each deceased member. Elizabeth Dobor, Irene Matos, Julia Penzes, John Horvatich, Louis Doza, Esther Dobrosky, Avis Aytai, Sidney Kostyu, William Dandalides and Louis Tyukody. The Secretary, who was the delegate to the 33rd Convention of the HRFA, gave a report regarding important changes and points of interest to the branch members. William Aros, Honorary Vice President, gave a report on the progress of the Bethlen Home of Ohio project. Branch 31 supports local fraternal, church and charitable activities, student aid and the Bethlen Home. Regular visitations to nursing homes and contributions to the Food for the Needy are activities of the officers throughout the year. Officers for 1989 were elected. Roberta Aros, President; Teresa Simone, Vice President; Emma Aros, Secretary-Treasurer. Meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m. with a prayer by William Aros. The next meeting is scheduled for April 23, 1989 at 2:30 p.m. at the Aros Residence. Emma Aros, Branch Manager BRANCH 35—DETROIT, Ml On January 29, 1989, Branch 35 held its meeting at the Branch office located on West Fort Street, Lincoln Park, Michigan. President Bujdoso called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. All officers were present. He announced that Rev. Bertalan as member and delegate could not be present since he had another commitment to attend. A total of sixteen members were present, it being a cold and rainy afternoon. President Bujdoso opened the meeting with a prayer. He was then asked by the Secretary to read the minutes of the last meeting. Motion was made by Ilona Kulchar, seconded by James Kish to accept the minutes. President Bujdoso then called upon the acting Treasurer, James Kish, to read the report since Michael Yuhasz passed away last June. Motion on the report was made by Amy Kulchar, seconded by Paul Kulchar. Youngest member of Branch 35, Imre Ede Bertalan, born November 3, 1988 to Rev. & Mrs. Imre A. Bertalan President then called upon the Branch Manager, Mrs. Ethel Teghze-Gerber, to read the names of the deceased members. A minute of silent prayer was held in their memory. May God grant them eternal rest. The Secretary read thank you letters from Rev. Paul Kovács for memorials received by the Bethlen Home on behalf of deceased members. President then called upon delegate Samuel Ves- premi to report on the Convention. Sam said that he enjoyed his first Convention. It gave him an opportunity to learn more about the Federation and to answer
