FRATERNITY Page 15 BRANCH 21 - Toledo The women from our branch came together and made 640 palacsintás on October 19th For October 20th, when we had the sale in Calvin Hall at Calvin United Church of Christ. Our fillings were cottage cheese, lekvár, apricot, straw­berry, grape and cinnamon and sugar. We had fifteen women working in the kitchen and dining room and three men who took care of the money. Our branch made a profit of $300. We are sending $200 for the “Statue of Liberty Fund” from Branch 21. The branch gave $100 to the general fund of Calvin United Church of Christ. The members will work in the country kitchen and craft booth for the bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 9th Betty Fejes and Baba Ujvage, two of our members are in charge of the booths. As last year, Branch 21 is sponsoring trips to Europe: 1 - EUROPEAN HERITAGE - Tour Aus­tria, Germany, Hungary. Dates: August 26-Sept. 8 (14 days). 2 - HUNGARIAN HERITAGE - Visit Bal­aton, Herend, Eger, Szentendre. Dates: Sept. 10- Oct. 1 (21 days). For further information check ad. Mary S. Bacho BRANCH 35 - Detroit Branch 35, Detroit held their meeting Sunday, January 12th, at 2 p.m. at the Hungarian Re­formed Church, Allen Park. There were 16 mem­bers in attendance. Acting President, Bishop Ab­raham opened the meeting with a short prayer and then asked Sam Vespremi to read the min­utes of the previous meeting. The minutes were approved as read. Sam Vespremi read the cor­respondence from President Rev. Imre Bertalan thanking Branch 35 for the donation of $167 to the Student Aid Fund. Acting President, Bishop Abraham conducted the meeting for the election of officers for 1986. The following members were elected: James S. Kish — president, Ilona Kulcsár — vice president, Julia Bujdoso — secretary, Michael Juhas — treas­urer. Bishop Abraham gave a detailed report on the Kantus, the student choral society from the Re­formed College of Debrecen which will visit the USA and Canada from March 20 to April 14, 1986. The choir will appear April 6th at the Hun­garian Reformed Church, Allen Park. It was sug­gested that it would be appropriate if Branch 35 participate with a donation. A 50-50 raffle was suggested for a source of money. This was ap­proved. No further business, therefore, the president called for motion to adjourn and Bishop Abraham closed the meeting with a prayer. Julie Bujdoso, Secretary BRANCH 52 - South Norwalk, CT Members and friends of Branch 52, thirty in number (including five persons from New York City), journeyed to Ligonier, PA from October 8- 11, 1985. The main purpose was to visit the Beth­len Home and Retirement Cottages, which we did on the second day of our trip. At the Bethlen Home, the group was warmly welcomed by Rev. Paul Kovács, Rev. Zoltán Ko­vács, and Mr. & Mrs. William Szuch, who as­Rev. Zoltán Kovács, Ass’t. to Administrator, Suz­anne Virgulák, Vice-president, Board of Directors of HRFA, Rev. Paul Kovács, Administrator of Bethlen Home.
