Októberben indult el, hogy New Port Richey, Floridában teljes nyuga­lomban további írásra, egyháza szolgálatára szen­telje életét. Isten másképpen határozott, december 27-én (1984) szívszélhüdésben hirtelen elszólította. Temetése ez év január 2-án nagy részvét megnyil­vánulása mellett volt McKeesport, PA-ban, Nt. Bertalan Imre és Ft. Ábrahám Dezső hirdették a feltámadás igéjét angolul és magyarul: 16 lelkész volt jelen. A független, önálló magyar református egyházi gondolat harcosa volt élete végéig. BRANCH 17, SOUTH BEND, IN At the December meeting the following were elected officers for the year 1985: President — Dorothy Batiz; Vice President — Elivera Kajzer; Secretary — Helen K. Modory; Treasurer — Cath­erine Kerestury. Meetings are planned for the spring. BRANCH 20, TRENTON, NJ A 20. osztály gyermek tagjainak egy csoportja Trenton „Branch 20” December 8-án 7:30-kor tartotta a karácsonyi ünnepélyét. Az Amerikai Magyar Szövetség és a Magyar Re­formátus Egyesület közösen tartotta meg a kará­csonyi ünnepélyt. Nagyon jól sikerült, volt bőven étel és ital (székelykáposzta, sonka s különböző saláták, sütemények és italok). A gyermekeket megajándékoztuk szaloncukor, csokoládé csornag- gal. A társaság jól érezte magát, mert este 11 óráig együtt volt. A jelenlevő 80 főből 26 mindkét egye­sületnek tagja. BRANCH 21, TOLEDO, OH Branch 21 of Toledo, Ohio met on December 16, 1984 in Calvin Hall at Calvin United Church of Christ at 9:30 a.m. Louis Sendi the president called the meeting to order and asked Rev. Imre Bertalan to lead us in prayer. The minutes of May 20th were read and ac­cepted. The secretary read a letter we received from President Rev. Bertalan which made a distinction between the responsibility of the branch officers and the branch manager. Louis & Ella Sendi, Helen Pereszlay and sev­eral other of our members put in many hours at the senior citizens nutrition center. John Bistayi was the chairman for the Birmingham Festival for 1984 and many hours were spent preparing for the event. Our branch had a hand craft booth and Betty Fejes, Mary Bacho, were in charge and different members help in the booth. Rev. and Baba had charge of the Mikulás Christmas party which was held at the Hungarian Club on December 2, 1984. Many of our members are members of the Hungarian Club and put in many working hours to make a big and better club. Our Branch voted to sponsor the Hungarian Heritage Tour 1985 vacation in Hungary, June 29th to July 16, 1985. Albert told about the new children’s Term In­surance protection plan and also about the divi­dends which the Federation will pay in 1985. The same officers were unanimously elected for 1985: Louis Sendi, President; Alan A. Bacho, Vice President; Mary S. Bacho, Secretary; Albert A. Bacho, Controller. We had a thank you note from Bethlen Home for the donation of crafts we sent for the Christ­mas bazaar. Since we had no further business we adjourned by all standing and repeating the mispah benedic­tion. Mary S. Bacho, Secretary CHARITABLE WORK The Bethlen Home in Ligonier, Pennsylvania cares tor our aged members and is supported through the efforts of our branches, members and churches.
