Zoli is a member of the Federation and also a member of the Reformed Church. Good Luck Zoli! The following were elected as officers for 1984: President — Frank V. Wilson; Vice President — Paul Farkas; Secretary — Endre Csornán; Control­ler — Zoltán Kovács; Branch Manager — Endre Csornán. One of our younger members, Joseph Csornán is recovering from an accident. We all wish you a speedy recovery! We were saddened to learn of the passing of John Bokor of Ellwood City, PA. “János Bácsi” will always be remembered by his family and friends. Endre Csornán I would like to express my deep appreciation for the check of $200. The money came in very handy to pay for my school books and tuition for the semester. Once again, I would like to thank the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America for the financial aid for my schooling. Gabor M. Wilson BRANCH 165-AKRON, OH The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America met at the home of the Branch Manager, Elizabeth Patonai at 2:30 pm on December 18, 1983 with eleven members present. President John Sunyecz opened the meeting and asked Joseph Miller to lead the meeting in prayer. He then asked John A. Sunyecz to read the Christ­mas story from St. Luke. He asked for the reading of the minutes which were approved as read and accepted. Mrs. Patonai read a letter from the president, Rev. Bertalan. Our next Convention will be Sep­tember 17-21, 1984 in Ligonier, PA. The member­ship per branch will be published in the first issue of the Fraternity, 1984. Since weather conditions are uncertain, Mrs. Pa­tonai asked that the election of officers for 1984 be made at this time. It was moved by Lois Miller and seconded that those who were officers in 1983 remain for 1984. President — John Sunyecz; Vice President — Irene Nagy; Secretary — Anna Sala; Controller — Barbara Sunyecz. There being no further business, Mrs. Patonai thanked members for their attendance. She passed out Christmas stockings filled with candy to the children present. Members bowed their heads and repeated the Lord’s Prayer. Anna R. Sala BRANCH 197 - LOWER BURREL, PA The meeting of Branch 197 was opened by Pres­ident Lou Szuch with a prayer and saluting of the flag. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read. Fran Szuch discussed the petition that she ob­tained signatures for. This was to try and get a commemorative stamp made for the 100th anniver­sary of Flag Day. Lou Szuch read a notice that Joseph Molnár, Jr. has retired have a lengthly faithful service to the Federation. He was replaced by Bob Cina who resides in Lower Burrell. A letter sent out by Mr. Cina to all Branch Managers stating his personal views and duties as the new District Coordinater was read by Fran Szuch. Members were asked by Lou Szuch, to submit any resolutions for the coming convention in Sep­tember, 1984. Fran Szuch set the date for the del­egate election on May 27, at 3 pm in her home. An open discussion was held on the pros and cons of the Bethlen Home. Mr. Charles — a member of our Branch and former president of the William Penn Association was recently hospitalized. A “Get Well” card will be sent by the branch. The president asked for nominations for new officers. None were submitted. Ed Trestan made a motion to retain all present officers and if ap­proved, then the secretary cast a vote for the offi­cers. Mrs. Farkas seconded the motion and it was so ordered. The following officers were elected for 1984: President — Louis J. Szuch; Vice President — An­thony Thomas; Secretary — Sandra Duceour; Branch Manager — Fran Szuch. Mr. Farkas made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Sandra Duceour. Sandra Duceour BRANCH 200 - KALAMAZOO, M! The meeting of Branch 200 was held in the Hun­garian Evangelical and Reformed Church Social Room, 805 Mills Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was held at 3 pm, February 5, 1984. The Reverend Joseph Posta opened the meeting with a prayer. Steve Kiss, Branch Manager, explained about the double indemnity payment and also talked about onvention on September 17, 1984. We wih be holding our delegates election meeting May 20, 1984. This meeting will be held in the Social room of the Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Church.
