We have completed our District meetings in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and New Brunswick. The Treasurer and I also held a meeting of the Field Force members in California while there as well as enjoying the fellowship of the officers and members of the Stephaneum in San Francisco. All of the meetings were well attended and informative instructions were given to the group by the respective National Officers. The Field is the “LIFELINE” of our organization and must be kept informed on all matters pertaining to insurance. At the Pittsburgh and Cleveland meetings, Meritorious Service Awards were presented to two outstanding field workers. Mr. Steve Üveges is the former Branch Manager of 197 in Springdale, Pa. His services to the members of the branch will long be remembered. We are extremely pleased that Brother Üveges has found his suitable replacement in the person of Brother Louis J. Szuch, whom we welcome with assurances that Brother üveges will still help out whenever and wherever possible. Mr. Albert E. Oris of Painesville, Ohio is the other recipient of the award. He is still actively working for the members in the northeastern Ohio area with the assistance of his faithful and devoted wife, Emma, the Section Manager for the area. May both of these fine brethren continue their service for our Federation in the years ahead. We are proud of them and their accomplismments. A hearty welcome and fraternal greetings are extended to Mrs. Gladys Canatta, Branch 81, Wallingford, Conn., Mr. Béla Bittera, agent of Branch 378, San Francisco, and Albert R. St. Miklossy, Section Manager, Branch 80, Perth Amboy, N. J. In Branch 81 Mrs. Canatta has taken over the duties after the death of her father, Mr. Nicholas Szegedi, who was a truly dedicated Federation worker for many years. In Branch 80, Mr. St. Miklossy follows in the footsteps of his father who served in this capacity for many years and is giving his son all of the help needed. In Branch 378, Mr. Béla Bittera has long been a helper to our District Manager, Dr. Tibor Albert Oris section manager received the Citation of Appreciation Aivard for his fraternal dedicated and faithful services. Koss. For any of your insurance needs, please contact these agents for help in their respective areas. Our best wishes to them as they undertake this new challenge. Our Bethlen Home will have its annual bazaar on August 25, 1979. All branches are requested to help them in this project. If anyone has any crafts, baked goods or hand sewn items they can donate, please contact me and arrangements will be made to get them to the Bethlen Home. Let us all pitch in and make this another successful event in the lives of our residents in the Bethlen Home. Another thought to keep in mind is that “In Memoriam” gifts can be made to the Bethlen Home which would be greatly appreciated. Also any donations made to the Student Aid and Loan Fund or the the Bethlen Home are tax deductable. Now is the time to review your insurance protection. The coverage you had five, ten or more years ago has slipped and dwindled with the ever present inflation spiral that is plagueing us all. For additional insurance protection, please contact your Brandi Manager, Field Force members listed on the back cover of this publication or my office. Immediate response will be given to your request. MEMBERSHIP IS EVERYONE’S JOB ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL.............. EVERY MEMBER GET A MEMBER.
