PLENARY SESSION 14. Recording secretary Domotor read the roll call. With the exception of one late coiner all the accredited members were present. 15. Recording secretary Beretz read the minutes of the session of the first day. The Convention approved the minutes with minor corrections upon the motion of Steve Üveges and seconded by Mrs. Anna Sala. The President appointed Dr. Otto Hamos, Rev. Zoltán Király and Rev. László Hunyady to attest the minutes of the opening day. 16. Upon the motion of Mr. William Puskas Jr. and seconded by Mr. Frank Dance the Convention voted unanimously to dispense with the reading of the reports by the National Officers since such reports had already been circulated to the delegates prior to the Convention. (See Exhibit C, D, E, F.) 17. Controller László Eszenyi called attention to graphs and charts concerning the work of the Federation and requested the delegates to become familiar with them. 18. Convention heard the report of Mr. Alex B. Eger, Legal Counseller. Exhibit G. The Convention received the Legal Counsellor report as a whole and referred it to the respective Committee for further study and deliberation. 19. The Convention heard the report of Dr. Paul Har- sanyi, Medical Director. Exhibit H. The Convention received the report and referred it to the proper Committee for study and further discussion. 20. President Beky declared a recess at 10:45 A.M. and reconvened the Plenary Session at 11:25 A.M. 21. President Beky appointed Dr. Tibor Köss and v. László Kernes to act as Sergeant-of-Arms of the Convention. 22. President Beky appointed a Travel Expense Committee with the following members: Zoltán Szabó, Chairman, William Puskas Jr. and Col. Walter Parker. 23. The request of Mrs. Ilona Kemes regarding remuneration for services rendered to the Federation by 3 Cleveland Branch Managers, namely Joseph Arnosky, Sándor Szabadkay and Mrs. Joseph Abel was referred to the Finance Committee. 24. The Convention heard the report of the Accountants Koppelman & Eglow presented by Alvin S. Eglow. Exhibit I. 25. The Convention heard the Auditing Report of the Board of Directors by Dr. Stephen Szabó. Exhibit J. The Convention voted to accept the report as read. 26. President Beky appointed the following members to the three working Committees as prescribed by the By- Laws: I. Executive and Fraternal Committee (see attached list) II. Administrative and Organization Committee (see attached list) III. Finance and Auditing Committee (see attached list) 27. Mr. Albert Oris requested that he be transferred to the Administration Committee. It was so ordered by President Beky. 28. President Beky appointed Bishops Abraham and Beretz, Deans Domotor and Toth and William Puskas Jr. as a Committee to draft a telegram to the President of the United States and the Governor of Pennsylvania and to write a Declaration to the Hungarian Reformed People in America and in the Old Country and to the Diaspora. 29. President Beky announced that the Board of Directors had invited the Rt. Rev. Alexander Daroczy, former Superintendent of the Bethlen Home and the Rev. József Kecskemethy, former National Secretary of the Federation as guests of the Convention. The Rt. Rev. Daroczy presented his greetings in person but Rev. Kecskemethy owing to a serious illness in the family sent his greetings by telegram, in which he expressed his great sorrow at not being able to present them in person. 30. President Beky read a telegram from the American Hungarian Federation by László Pásztor, Chairman of the Board. 31. Dr. Tibor Köss expressed the gratitude of the Stephanium in San Francisco and pledged their full cooperation to the Federation in the future. 32. The Convention on the motion of William Szuch voted to change the daily schedule of the plenary session to begin at 9:00 A.M. and adjourn at 5 P.M. 33. The Board of Directors presented a Resolution to recompense Charles Kovács and John Szabó with $300.- dollars each in connection with their appeal to the Convention, regarding the delegate election from their Branch. It was seconded by Col. Walter Parker. The Convention voted unanimously for the Resolution. 34. President Beky recessed the Convention at 12:42 P.M. The working Committees started the work.
