English Section A Week-End Promotion Project On February 6tli, Friday the Con­troller and Secretary had luncheon with our New Jersey anil New ^ ork Field Force, Rev. Imre Bertalan. Board of Director member, Rev. Francis Vitéz, editor of the Refor­mátusok Lapja and Mrs. Ida Bankó. New Brunswick office worker. At the afternoon meeting many questions were asked bv the District and Sec­tion Managers and answered hv the National Officers. The questions related to salary, expense and fringe benefits will he finalized by the resolutions passed at the March Board of Directors meeting. The January production average of our New' Jersey Field Force was 125% and New York's 12-V'/c. This compares favorably to our national average of 120%. The commendable pro­duction was accomplished in spite of the fact that six Field Force members had zero production and four produced less than 60%. We left as members of a liappv family; co-workers and fellow-workers of the Federation. In the evening we were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gabor Bodnar in Garfield. New Jersey. After the excel­lent dinner W'e had the privilege to discuss Bov Scout projects and Federation promotion matters with the highest ranking Hungarian Boy Seoul executive in the United States until 1:30 A.M. It was recognized, acknow­ledged and greatly appreciated that the Federation was and still is among the very first national organizations substantially supporting the Hungarian Boy Scouts in the United States. In the friendly atmosphere of dis­cussion it was emphasized that the ties of friendship should not only be continued but preferably- strength­ened in the future. On February 7th, Saturday the branch managers of guests of Rev. and Mrs. Paul Ferenczy. The meeting started at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon and ended at 11:00 o’clock in the evening. It was a pleasure to bear from such veteran experienced and dedicated branch managers as Andrew' Buzas, Andrew Kurimai (member of tbe Board of Directors), Stephen Molnár, John Nagy, William Szegedy and Louis Yager the pledge of their in­dividual and united support to help the District Man­ager to meet his 1970 quota 100%. The managers also suggested to sponsor a Connecticut Federation Fellow­ship Day similar to that held in New Jersey. On February 8th, Sunday afternoon the branch managers of our Eastern Pennsylvania District met at tbe Phoenixville Hungarian Reformed Church. Mr. Frank Dance, District Manager gave expert instruction on promotion and branch administration. VIrs. Nicholas Sewell and Mrs. Sinka made arrangements w'ith Mr. Dance to end tbe zero production years of Phoenixville and Coatesville. Mr. James Bodnar and Mr. William Toth promised to improve tbe production in Palmerton and Philadelphia. Mr. Holzer pledged bis fullest co­operation in promoting the Federation interests in Al­lentown. We stayed for the congregational banquet sponsored in honor of the 1970 Phoenixville consistory. After tbe meal fellowship group games were played under tbe leadership of Dr. Nicholas Sewell. At 9:30 P.M. we departed after tbe benediction was pronounced by the highly educated and popular pastor. It was a pleasure to report Monday morning in W ashington to mv fellow National Officers tbe genuine fraternal spirit in our Eastern area. Such fraternal re­lationship on tbe District, Section and Branch Man­agers level assures us of the enthusiasm and dedication that our staff members have toward the welfare of our Federation. Furthermore, it was a great honor to enjoy tbe warm friendship and tbe most generous hospitality of tbe local pastors. tbe Connecticut District and the Secretary were tin ☆ ☆ THE BEST PRODUCING FIELD FORCE MEMBERS IN 1969 ALBERT E. ORIS Northeast Ohio Section Manager. 1969 production record 162%. Percentagewise Mr. Oris was our leading best producing Section Man­ager. Mr. Oris was born and educated in Ohio. He is a veteran of World War II. In the post-war period be was an official Hungarian interpreter in Sopron, Hungary. He married Emma J. Katona who recently went through two major operations. We were glad to learn that now she is on tbe road to recovery. Mrs. Oris is tbe manager of Branch 3 since 1964 when Air. Oris became Section Manager. For twenty-two years he works for the Fairport Harbor Diamond Sham­rock Corporation. For tw'cntv years be is a dedicated consistory member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Fairport Harbor.
