as president and treasurer of the congregation. Mr. and Mrs. Oris have much happiness in their two children: Dawn and Thomas. Mr. Oris became enthusiastic about insurance when he attended the basic indoctrination course for new agents at Purdue University. For his 1969 production success and outstanding record he wishes to thank his wife and his other co-working branch managers: Mrs. Susie Kaufman (219), James Misinic (39), Ernest Sala (165) and Mrs. John Yesso (223). Mr. Oris started the New Year with a January production record of 384%. Congratulations! Please keep up the good work. REV. DR. ARTHUR A. LUDWIG Section Manager of Greater Chicago Area District. 1969 net production 117%. Percentagewise Dr. Ludwig ranks second on the list of our District and Section managers producing their quota requirement 100% or better. Dr. Ludwig became manager of our 154 Indiana Harbor branch in 1964 and Section Manager of our Illinois, Indiana and Michigan District on September 15, 1969. Dr. Ludwig was born in Pozsony, Austria-Hungary. Educated in Czechoslovakia, a soldier in Czechoslovakia and Slovakia, a nationalist in Hungary, a refugee without a country and finally a citizen of the United States. He received his doctor degree of law and political science from the Comenius University of Pozsony. In his youth he was well known as a Boy Scout leader. He continued his post graduate work for his Doctor of Philosophy degree but was unable to complete the course because of the complications caused by World War II. He was very active in the cultural activities and organizing projects of the Hungarian minority in Czechoslovakia. He was a delegate to the Cultural World Congress Conference of the League of Nations representing the Hungarian minority which was always close to his heart. He also organized one month summer vacation camps for the children of the Hungarian factory workers in Czechoslovakia. He was active in the Protestant ecumenical movement. In 1958 he graduated from the Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio and became pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Indiana Harbor. He married Elvyra Pearl and have five children: Piroska — who received a Dr. of Philosophy degree at Gainesville, Florida, now teaching anatomy and electron microscope at Richmond, Va.; Aurel, employed by the Indiana Harbor Inland Steel Co.; Hajnal, a graduate of Bloomington University, a Lake County Social Welfare Worker in the crippled children division; Kalman, an Elmhurst College graduate, now studying for the Christian ministry at Bethany Theological Seminary in Oakwood, 111.; Irene studied automation, now a programmer of the Signote Company. LÁSZLÓ KEMES District Manager of the Ohio District. 1969 net production 106%. László Kernes was born in Hungary where he completed his elementary and secondary education and attended Military school. He is a veteran of World War II. Among his Military awards he has the title “Vitéz”. He married Ilona Ambrus and have three children: Ilona, László and George. He resides in Cleveland and is a member and elder of the Hungarian Lutheran church. He is an active member of the M. H. B. K. Mr. Kernes is one of our most able District Managers in the Western Area. He has been in the service of our Federation for more than a decade, beginning as a Branch Manager, Section Manager and now District Manager. He is also the Manager of our Cleveland Branch Office. In his production work he received much help from Rev. Tibor Dömötör of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Yolan Abel, Branch Manager and Secretary of our Cleveland Branch Office. Mrs. Keines went through major surgery and is now on the road to recovery. She was and we hope that when her convalescence period ends she will be a great help and assistant in setting up the promotion schedule for her husband.
