4 FRATERNITY in New York City. This eloquent preacher, dedicated missionary and faithful servant of our Lord and His Church is of Hungarian ancestry. His Christian roots go back to our Hungarian Reformed Church in Passaic, N. J. His parents were members there; he attended Sunday School and was confirmed there by me with the Class of 1931, during my pastorate in that church. Dr. Lévai received his further Christian education in the Reformed Church in America (Dutch Reformed) and was graduated from their fine school, the Theological Seminary of New Brunswick, N. J., which again was partly my Alma Mater also. As a young servant following Christ’s command: “Go ye, therefore, and teach all the nations . . .”, he became a missionary in India, serving there with his wife, who is a medical missionary. After many years in foreign lands, he is back again in the U. S. A. as one of the seven minister sons of the Passaic Church, but serving all nations again through the Bible Society by preaching the Word of God, spreading the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and by trying to place the Book of Books, the Holy Bible, into the hands of God’s children in all lands. Through the inspiration and true Christian appeal of Dr. Levai's article, upon my humble motion and request, the officers' meeting of our Federation, as its first official act of the new year, resolved to declare the year 1966 as "The Year of the Bible". — I recommend the reading of this Declaration on the opposite page. QUOTATIONS FROM PRESIDENTS ABOUT LIFE INSURANCE Insurance offers men and women an opportunity to pool the financial effects of chance misfortunes, and is also a good medium for saving and investment. The wide distribution of insurance in this country is an invaluable factor in our daily life and is, I believe, one of the finest results of our national development. PRES. HERBERT HOOVER ★ ★ ★ The advantages of life insurance, manifest every day in every community, cannot be discounted. This form of insurance is part of our modern life. To carry adequate life insurance is a moral obligation incumbent upon the great majority of citizens. PRES. FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT ★ ★ ★ In our system of free enterprise, insurance holds a place of special Importance. This is a segment of American industry with which a high percentage of our citizens are associated. In a very real sense insurance sets standards of performance and responsibility for all American business. Surely Americans derive their image of business most often from the relations which they establish with insurance agents. The varied services performed by American insurance can do much to carry forward our traditions of freedom. PRES. JOHN F. KENNEDY
