FRATERNITY 9 MEMBERSHIP DRIVE ON THE 70th ANNIVERSARY As we celebrate the 70th Anniversary of our Federation, we should not forget its purpose — to provide protection and security for more than 35,000 members in the United States and Canada. Over the years the Federation has built a well deserved reputation in providing for people who need help. The Federation’s assistance at a time of need to widows and children has become so accepted that we sometimes forget to stop and consider how remarkable it is! Just think of all the people who have found in the Federation a readiness and willingness to help when they needed it the most! Let’s make 1966 — this 70th Anniversary — a year in which we make the protection and security offered by the Federation available to as many as we possibly can. We could increase the Federation’s membership to 40,000 by the end of the year, if our field workers and branch managers will add 75 new members a week to our present membership! Thirty years ago we traveled around the country on behalf of the Federation during our 40th Anniversary Year. There were membership drives from eastern Connecticut to western Michigan, with stops for a week or two in many cities in between. This year, let us repeat the perforrmance — the success of our 40th Anniversary Drive! Think what it would mean if an additional 4,000 members could feel the added security of our protection! The more members we bring “into the fold”, the greater we grow in strength and effectiveness, and greater is the security and protection we can offer. In turn, when our branch managers and fieldmen sell insurance protection to their friends and prospects, they insure and secure their own futures also, by receiving greater commission checks! And there is nothing in this world your Treasurer loves better than to write out those well deserved commission checks. What a joy that is to do! How can you get bigger commission checks? By putting more effort behind your work! You reap what you sow! Follow these rules of good field performance: 1. Believe in the Federation! 2. Be familiar with the different plans of insurance. 3. Organize yourself and your work. 4. Plan your contact with a purpose in mind. 5. Never misrepresent. If you don’t know an answer, admit it and promise to get it. 6. Make as many calls as you can, omitting no one. 7. Keep a record of your calls and repeat them as needed. 8. Talk clearly and to the point. 9. Remember, only you can build confidence — in both yourself and the Federation. 10. Be courteous; remember, you are a guest in your prospect’s home. These few rules of good field performance will help you increase your sales production and may yet bring you out on top in this present 70th Anniversary Membership Contest! Paul St. Miklossy
