2 FRATERNITY The essays should be post-marked not later than May 31, 1965, and mailed to the Secretary of the Federation. Contestants may write their essays on any one of the above topics in its entirety or on any particular phase of the subject matter of which they have most knowledge. (Proposed phases could be: literary, historical, cultural, artistic, scientific, economic, social or religious aspects of the topic.) For further details, please refer to the December 1964 issue of the Fraternity or write to the Secretary of the Federation. RECEPTION IN THE STATE DEPARTMENT Our Federation's national secretary, Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy, in discussion with Dean Rusk, Secretary of State, at the official reception in which he represented the American Hungarian Federation. A reception given by Dean Rusk, Secretary of State, was held in the James Monroe Reception Room of the State Department Building on February 24, 1965. The invited guests included the leaders of those religious and social organizations who were interested in the President’s new immigration legislation. The discussion embraced, among other matters, portions of the bill which directly or indirectly would concern Hungarian immigration.
