FIIA T E R N IT Y The three Associations within the Congress are the Fraternal Ac­tivities Association, Fraternal Actuarial Association and Fraternal Field Managers’ Association. The Congress also met in Plenary Session em­bracing all its Sections and Associations. Total assets for fraternal benefit societies (as of January 1, 1961) were $3,213,160,621. Local branches for the societies number over 71,000 in the United States and Canada. OUR NEW INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE After careful planning and much work in our actuarial and under­writing departments, and finally in possession of the legal permits from the insurance departments of the different states, we are happy to introduce to our present and future members the following new in­creased sick benefit and hospitalization plans. The new plans as outlined below will be available effective Novem­ber 1, 1961. For details about these plans and for information regard­ing the procedure for obtaining these fine coverages, please contact the Supervisors and the District or Section Managers of your area. INCREASED SICK BENEFIT The Federation issues an Income Protection Sick Benefit Rider to members carrying a minimum Life Insurance Certificate of $1,000. Dis­ability benefits are available at $3.00, $4.00 and $5.00 per day or a weekly income of $21.00 to $28.00 or $35.00 for periods of total dis­ability caused by either accident or sickness originating while the cover­age is in force. The coverage is guaranteed renewable to age 65 and may be renewed after 65, subject to the Federation’s right to change rates. TWO SICK BENEFIT PLANS ARE AVAILABLE 1. Plan A. Provides 10 weeks of full benefit and 16 weeks of half benefit beginning on the 8th day of total disability. 2. Plan B. Provides 52 weeks of full benefit beginning on the 15th day of total disability. The plans are issued only to men (Males) aged 16-55 who work full time outside of their homes. Evidence of disability must be submitted at least once a week by a qualified physician in attendance. INCREASED HOSPITAL AND SURGICAL CERTIFICATE The Federation issues this certificate to men and women aged 16-55 as single hospitalization to members carrying a minimum Life Insurance Certificate of $1,000 and under these same conditions to families as "Increased Family Hospitalization" (spouse or any dependent child who is at least 14 days of age but less than 23 years of age). This Increased Hospital and Surgical Certificate contains the follow­ing benefits which may be selected in various combinations:
