18 FRATERNITY The Convention voted to elect the four supreme officers separately; the three vice presidents together, the first three candidates receiving the highest votes to be elected; the rest of the directors together by separate districts, on one ballot for both directors and alternates, in the following manner: where two directors are to be elected from one district, the two candidates receiving the highest votes to be elected as directors, the next to be the alternate of the director receiving the highest vote, the fourth to be the alternate of the director receiving the second highest vote; where one director is to be elected from a district, the one candidate receiving the highest vote to be elected director, the candi­date receiving the second highest vote to be his alternate. The Convention was informed that an absolute majority (49 votes) will be necessary to elect the four supreme officers, a plurality of votes to elect the vice presidents and directors. Ten voters are needed to request a secret ballot. 86. The Rt. Rev. George E. K. Borshy was presented by the Nomi­nating Committee as a candidate for the office of president. After the Convention voted unanimously to elect the president by acclamation, The Rt. Rev. George E. K. Borshy was elected presi­dent by acclamation. 87. The Rev. Joseph Kecskeméthy was presented by the Nominating Committee as a candidate for the office of secretary. After the Convention voted unanimously to elect the secretary by acclamation, The Rev. Joseph Kecskeméthy was elected secretary by acclamation. 88. Mr. László Eszenyi was presented by the Nominating Committee as a candidate for the office of comptroller. After the Convention voted to elect the comp­troller by acclamation, Mr. László Eszenyi was elected comptroller by ac­clamation. 89. The Nominating Committee presented four applicants for the office of treasurer in the following order: Mr. Imre Király, Rev. Stephen Sziártó, Dr. Gábor Ujfalussy, Mr. Paul St. Miklóssy. Since there was no second to Dr. Ujfalussy’s nomination, his name was erased from among the candidates. A motion to elect Mr. Király by acclamation was dis­cussed and finally retracted.
