8 FRATERNITY JOSEPH KECSKEMETHY: ITEMS OF INTEREST DISTINGUISHED PASTOR HONORED Lack of space due to special Convention reports — of vital interest to our Federation members — prevented our bringing sooner to our readers news of the thirty-fifth anniversary celebration of the Rev. Dr. Stephen Böszörményi’s pastorate in the Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Church of Bridgeport, Connecticut. We wish to do so now, because our Federation esteems highly its distinguished member, an outstanding pastor and friend, and his congregation. The jubilee festivities, held on June 19, 1960, at the Laurel Street Church, commenced with two church services in the morning, when the Rev. Imre Kovács preached to the English-speaking congregation and the Rev. Imre Bertalan to the Hungarian-speaking congregation. On both occasions the sanctuary was filled to capacity, the church people thus demonstrating their loyalty and devotion to their pastor. A testimonial dinner followed at the Ritz Ball Room in the evening. Included in the great assemblage were not only members of the congregation but a host of local and distant church and political dignitaries also, as well as many friends of the guest of honor. Mr. Steven Dohanos, nationally known artist, was master of ceremonies. He called on all the representatives of churches, other organizations and friends of Rev. Böszörményi to express their greetings . . . among them the Honorable Samuel J. Tedesco, mayor of Bridgeport. The
