FRATERNITY 9 long list of names of those friends who sent letters and congratulatory telegrams were read by Mr. Dohanos, after which the congregation and its organizations presented their gifts to the pastor and his wife. The guest of honor was the last to speak. Greatly moved and in heartfelt words he thanked the members of his church, his friends and colleagues for having made this day one of the most memorable ones in his pastoral career. In answer to those who made mention of the honorary Doctor of Divinity degree which he received from Franklin and Marshall College, he said he felt that the honor was bestowed not on him alone but first and foremost on the Magyar Synod of which body he had been president for four years. A souvenir book, commemorating the thirty-fifth anniversary of Dr. Böszörményi’s pastorate with the Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Church of Bridgeport, was published by the congregation. Its pages speak of devotion and admiration for the distinguished pastor. These pages may turn yellow with time but the life, service and faith of this pastor and the resulting honors bestowed on this servant of God and through him on his congregation and his people . . . will never lose their exemplary impact. Although the writer of this report was happy to personally honor and express friendly good wishes to his colleague and friend, he is happy again to express in our official paper the greetings and friendly solicitations of the officers and members of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America.
