REZUMEK Mihály Szilágyi: The 1725/26 record of Ádám Takács, head of judiciary in Szekszárd Mihály Szilágyi presents a valuable historic source that was believed to be lost. The author supplemented the historic document with a live­ly, colourful writing on the life of 18th century Szekszárd. Szilágyi re­views the town's history from a new perspective, concentrating on the settlement's leading class. The writer provides a fascinating introduc­tion to the market town's economic, social and legislative life from the first third of the 18th century. The historic data from the document men­tioned in the title is supplemented by other sources from the same time. The election procedure of the market town's officials are ex­plained by detailing the ranking, professional activities, occupations and wealth of its citizens. The author provides a thorough descrip­tion on the responsibilities and functions of local officials. Although officials received tax exemption, the essay also stresses the dangers that officials had to face for the sake of their local communities. The literal rewriting of the quoted original source makes this piece even more enjoyable. The extensive vocabulary list is another highlight of the essay, which supports the better understanding of historic texts. Anna Cserna: ’’Pro memoria”, the memorial of György Bartal The writing of György Bartal can be categorized as a memorial. Howev­er, as a result of Anna Csema's factual research and thorough collection of available data, this memorial can also be viewed as a historic source, which illustrates the fulfillment of a gentry's outstanding career in the county and at a national level. His story provides important data and a detailed insight into the political, social and economic history of the era. Through patient and persistent work, Anna Cserna aimed to publish a literal presentation of the full memorial, the debentures, accounts, the brothers' land allotments and contracts.
