Evangelical church in Domonkosfa with an orchard. Photo: LKZ, 2012. attended school at Nemescsó, was taught by writer Mihály Bakos, and then studied at the Lutheran Ly­ceum in Sopron till 1783. He first taught at Križevci, at the Lutheran congregation there, then at Puconci, from 1787 till 1806. After that he was transferred to Domonkosfa where he worked until his death in 1833. His work of major significance in literary history with the title Mrtvecsne peszmi, i.e. Funeral Songs was published in 1796. A well known member of a traditional dynasty of potters, the Czugh, János Czugh master potter, the Master of Folk Art was born at Domonkosfa in 1917. János Czugh learnt pottery in his father’s work­shop. He passed his craftsman exam in 1938. He had worked on his own till 1949, and then in 1950 he es­tablished the Magyarszombatfa Potters’ Cooperative with his brother Dezső. He and his brother moved to Tófej near Zalaegerszeg in 1964, where he became one of the founders and foremen of the ceramics factory.
