RAINBOW 1987/22. Literary, artistic and critical review Published every four months Summary We open this issue with poems by Géza Szőcs (Switzerland). We also publish poems by László Baránszky, Sándor A goes, Imre Fur­­mann, József Magyar, Ferenc Parez, and János Szikra (all the five are from Hungary). A short story of Mihály Ferdinandy is included, followed by a series of translations by György Faludy. Tibor Pákh (Budapest) writes his memoirs as a war prisoner in So­viet Union during the 2nd World War. Miklós Duray ’s work is about the Hungarian minority in Czechoslovakia. The Artist Group, Inconnus (Budapest) Manifesto is followed by Ádám Makkai’s essay: ’’The Dead Souls” of Gogol. Péter Kaslik is fo­cusing on the artist Tibor Bencze's (Munich) work, who ’s compositions illustrate our issue. Katalin Dávid (Budapest) introduces the painter Maya Nagy (Italy), who is also illustrating this issue. Strictly confidential — Report of the Central Committee of the Hungarian Socialist Worker’s Party on the dissidents’ activities. In the critique section, we publish book reviews by Klára Györgyey, Nándor Ludvig, Tihamér Komjáthy, László Endrödy (Van Nuys, CA), József Atádi, Ligeti, Lajos Szathmáry, Balázs Csapó (Szeged), Zsu­zsanna Ozsváth (Richardson, TX), György Faludy, and Gábor Pethő (New York). We conclude this issue with György Gömöri’s account on the last year’s International Congress of Hungarology, held in Vienna.
