144. évfolyam (2007) Supplementum I. Prospectiv study to compare the results of Epi-LASIK and PRK Zoltán Zsolt Nagy, András Szigeti, Tamás Filkorn, Agnes Ildikó Takács Department of Ophtalmology, Semmelweis University, Maria str., Budapest Purpose: to compare the results of Epi-LASIK and PRK regarding the postoperative outcome and pain. Patients and methods: we performed Epi-LASIK in 20 eyes of 10 patients, and PRK on 20 eyes of 10 patients, with Zeiss Meditec MEL 80 excimer laser (Zeiss Meditec, Jena, Germany). Epi LASIK operations were performed with Moria EpiK keratome (Moria AG, Antony, France) The values of spherical diopters were between -2.0D and - 6.0D. Mean age in the two groups was between 28.3±3.4 years, and 29.4±4.2, respectively. We compared postoperative pain on days 1, 2, 3, 5, one week, and one months after surgery. Follow-up time was between 3 and 6 months. Results: 50% of Epi-LASIK patients complained of severe pain, while in the PRK group only 30%. On the second day in the Epi-Lasik group 20%, in the PRK group 60% complained of pain, after the fourth day there was no difference in the severity of pain. Corneas remained transparent in all cases after Epi-LASIK, we have detected a subepithelial haze (st. 1 according to Hanna) in one case after PRK. Visual rehabilitation was faster after Epi-LASIK, after the 8th week there was no difference between the two groups. Following the first month there was no difference in best corrected visual acuity, and we found no statistically significant difference in safety. The subepithelial haze have shown regression after 3 months. Conclusion: Both methods were successive, effective and safe. After Epi-LASIK the risk of haze formation is less, and visual rehabilitation is relatively faster. However, long-term difference between the two methods was not detected. A presbyopia korrekciójának lehetőségei Nagy Zoltán Zsolt Szemészeti Klinika, Semmelweis Egyetem, Mária utca, Budapest Az előadásban a szerző áttekinti a presbyopia megoldásának legfontosabb lehetőségeit, illetve azok korlátáit, úgy mint az ún. presby-LASIK technikát, az új multifokális intraocularis szemlencsék tapasztalatait, az akkomodatív műlencséket, a konduktív keratoplasticát, az AcuFocus intracornealis lencsét, a myopiában alkalmazott ún. multifokális technikát. Possibilities of presbyopic correction Zoltán Zsolt Nagy Department of Ophtalmology, Semmelweis University, Mária str, Budapest This review presents the main possibilities and limits of presbyopia correction, like presby-LASIK treatment, experiences with new multifocal intraocular lenses, accommodating intraocular lenses, conductive keratoplasty, the AcuFocus intraocular lens, and the multifocal technology used in myopia.
