110 Szemészet, 129 (1992) Vizsgálataink során az IDU és steroid, valamint az acyclovir és steroid kombinációs kezelés összevetésére volt lehetőségünk. Az IDU- és steroid-kezelés kevésbé bizonyult hatásosnak. Ennek oka kettős lehet. Részben a már korábban kapott IDU-val szemben kialakult rezisztencia, másrészt az IDU csarnokvízbe történő gyér penetrációja az acyclovir jó penetrációjával szemben, miszerint az ACV a csarnokvízben nagyobb terápiás koncentrációban van jelen. A steroid-terápia a jelenlévő iritis, iridocyclitis miatt nem hagyható el, a gyorsabb gyógyulást szolgálja. Csökkenti a fájdalmat is, de önmagában adva nem elegendő. Mellékhatást nem észleltünk, mint ennek lehetőségéről korábban Jones és mtsai (9), Collum és mtsai (2), Coster és mtsai (5), Wilhelmus és mtsai (19), McGill és mtsai (15) beszámoltak. Eredményeink mély herpeses keratitis vonatkozásában az irodalmi adatokkal jól korrelálnak, és egyértelműen az acyclovir és steroid kombinációs kezelés alkalmazása mellett szólnak. Irodalom 1.
