Valószínűleg a steroidokkal szembeni fokozott érzékenység felelős a szemnyomás emelkedéséért.

Arra vonatkozóan, hogy a glaucomás egyének transcortin affinitását milyen tényezők befolyásolják, a jelen kísérletek még nem adnak választ. Felmerül annak lehetősége, hogy a transcortin mint receptor molekula structurálisan különbözik a glaucomás betegeknél és egy gyengébb affinitású transcortin molekula lenne jelen. Másik lehetőség, hogy a transcortin — corticosteron kötést nagyobb plazma hígításban egy más szubsztrátum mint corticosteron befolyásolja és ez a vegyület glaucomás rohamban felszaporodik. A kérdés eldöntésére további vizsgálatokat végzünk.

Összefoglalás

A szerző a plazma transcortin szintjét vizsgálta primaer glaucomában, glaucoma-f diabetesben, diabetes mellitusban kontroll csoporthoz viszonyítva. Vizsgálataiból kiderült, hogy a nyugalmi plasma transcortin szint a vizsgált 3 betegségcsoportban szignifikánsan magasabb, mint a kontrol] csoportban; továbbá, hogy primaer glaucomában a többi csoporthoz viszonyítva a corticosteron disszociáció nagyobb, mint a hígítás aránya alapján várható. Ezen eredmények tisztázására további vizsgálatok szükségesek.
