A KISEGÍTő HONVÉD KARHATALOM ÉS AZ ELLENÁLLÁS BUDAPESTEN, 1944–1945 326 the research, the author surveys the organizational history of KISKA before examining and assessing, on the basis of extensive source material, the history and accomplishments of the most important resistance units. The career of the commanders and deputy com­manders with a (far-)right political background who took part in the conspiration are also reconstructed in detail. This analysis sheds light on the causes and, partly, on the working of contact networks which, as described in the paper, extended from the various commu­nist factions to the Arrow Cross. Instead of applying an “anti-fascist paradigm” the author interprets in the conclusion the armed resistance and human salvation pursued in the KISKA from a more pragmatic approach, involving new research concepts.
