Affairs exerted no great influence on the evolution of Hungarian–Romanian relations, it occupied a key place in the foreign affairs of both countries. From this perspective, it is important to see clearly how those in charge of the direction of German foreign affairs regarded Hungary and Romania and the issues that bought them into opposition, and what the key questions were in their bilateral relations that appeared important enough to raise the attention of the German politicians. Such are the question to which the paper seeks to offer answers.
