Szabó SUMMARY The paper explores the origins and career of the military revolution theory within British military historiography, from the beginning to the early 2000s, when, in the wake of serious criticism, the theory was practically eliminated as a usable scientific paradigm. The author also aims to shed light on reactions to the theory outside British-American scholarship, as well as to reveal the potential role and opportunities of East-Central Europe in this global discourse.
