METSZETEK ÉS RÖPLAPOK A VISSZAFOGLALÓ HÁBORÚRÓL 884 Valvasor sokkal nagyobb lehetőségekkel rendelkezett, mint az ulmi orvos, mégis az aktualitást közvetítő röplapokat hasonló szemlélettel válogatta 1683 és 1687 között, szintén elsősorban Jacob Koppmayertől, Johann Jonathan Felsseckertől és Johann Hoffmantól vásárolva. Eberhard Gockel két évtizeden át vezetett adatokban gazdag és lényeglátó krónikája azt bizonyítja, hogy a birodalmi városok művelt polgárai értő módon tájékozódtak a 17. század végi nyomtatott híráradatban, valamint tudatosan használták a képi információt és a metszetes reprezentációt világról alkotott képük, társadalmi státusuk, városuk értékeinek megörökítésére. Etényi SUMMARY Between 1678 and 1703, Eberhard Gockel (1636–1703) chronicled the events that took place in his native city, in the Swabian district, and in the German Reich, including those of the anti-Ottoman war in Hungary. The most characteristic feature of his work is his intimate relationship with pictorial representations. The chronicler included in his manuscript both engravings and leaflets about the great victories over the Ottomans, and cities and castles reoccupied. Gockel consciously selected the images, adopting the high-quality leaflets of editors from Augsburg, Nuremberg, and Munich, and rejecting popular works, caricatures and panegyrical equestrian portraits. While respecting the interests of the Habsburg dynasty, this citizen of Ulm basically commemorated the role of the Swabian auxiliary troops. His chronicle, presented in the study, clearly shows the conscious way in which the educated city-dweller used his pictorial information, engraved representations. und Druckgraphik des 17.
