Ombod (Pálfalva község). Református templom A középkori templomra nincs adatunk. 1779-ben a birtokos Teleki család fatemplomot építtetett a gyülekezetnek, amely 1862-ig állt, de a vízjárta terület miatt az új templomot más helyen kezdték el építeni. A munkával a szatmári Schwartz mestert bízták meg, az építkezés 1862 és 1864 között folyt, a helyi birtokos Debreczeni és Eötvös családok hathatós támogatásával, közreműködésüket a templomban emléktábla örökíti meg. A romantikus stílusú teremtemplom félköríves apszissal záródik, nyolcszögletű tornya a hajó méreteihez viszonyítva kicsinek hat. Háromtengelyes főhomlokzatát kerek ablakok, a párkány felett vakablakok teszik változatosabbá. Szószéke a klasszicizmus formanyelvét idézi. Két harangját 1924-ben Temesváron öntötték. (TSz). Ambud (comuna Păuleşti). The Calvinist Church There is no information on the medieval church of the village. The local noble family, Teleki, the owners of the village, built a wooden church for the community in 1779. This one was in use until 1862. The dampness of the soil determined, that the new church was transferred to a new location. The construction was carried out between 1862 and 1864, and it was supervised by the craftsman Schwartz, from Satu Mare. The building was financed by the local aristocratic families: Debreczeni and Eötvös, whose contribution is mentioned in the inscription from the church. The hall-church was built in the Romantic style and ends in a semicircular apse. The octagonal tower seems small to the size of the nave. The main faţade is provided with circular windows, and with decorative false windows situated above the cornice. The pulpit is built in the classic style. The two bells were made in Timişoara, in 1924. (TSz). I —»» t —■«» > ■■■» I Apa. Biserica ortodoxă „Pogorârea Sfântului Duh” A fost ridicată între anii 1848 şi 1863. Arhitectura bisericii este influenţată de stilul baroc, fenomen frecvent întâlnit la edificiile ecleziastice din regiune, construite în secolul al XIX-lea. în anul 1905 se reface turnul, care, datorită unor greşeli tehnice, a trebuit să fie dărâmat şi reclădit. Vechea pictură, în stil bizantin, a fost restaurată în 1927. Iconostasul este compus din mai multe registre de icoane pictate pe lemn, cu teme ale erminiei bizantine: Cina cea de Taină, Iisus Hristos, Maica Domnului, Proorocii, Apostolii, Sf Nicolae, Bunavestire, Pescuirea minunată, Alungarea lui Adam, Iisus şi femeia samariteană. (DB). Apa. „A Szentlélek eljövetele” ortodox templom. A templom 1848 és 1863 között épült, a barokk stílus hatását mutatja, ami gyakori a vidék 19. századi egyházi épületeinél. 1905-ben új tornyot építettek, mivel elődjét technikai hibák miatt le kellett bontani. Régi, bizánci stílusú festését 1927- ben restaurálták. Ikonosztáza több, fára festett ikonokat tartalmazó sorból áll, a bizánci kánonoknak megfelelő témákkal: Az utolsó vacsora, Jézus Krisztus, Istenszülő, Próféták, Apostolok, Szt. Miklós, Örömhírvétel, A csodálatos halfogás, Adám kiűzetése a Paradicsomból, Jézus és a szamariai asszony. (DB). 18
