562 Io an Horga 1800ly when the confessional had a greater value than the ethnic had produced a type of education open towards RC. In the 3 parishes the weight of mixed marriagesin the total number of GC marriages is of 67%, percent that situates the district of the archpriest of Lunca on the first place at the level of the diocese19 20. The ratio on sexes of the preference for mixed marriages: men (81.8%), women (18.2%). The District of the Archpriest of MAKO The district of the archpriest of Mako had 4 parishes situated in the district of Arad, Bekes, Csanad, and Csongrad counting together with the 27 branches a number of 6170 believers21.The characteristic of these parishes was that they covered a very large region with only a few GC believers. The situation in this district is similar to a great extend to that from Leta Mare. The population of GC confession had a low weight (1.3%) while the O hardly overpassed 3%22. This situation makes the marital behaviour of GC population present, beyond the tendency of preserving the confessional identity through marriage, an important inter-confessional and intercommunity mobility. In the parish of Mako we deal with a particular situation in comparison to the district. Besides the 1418 believers from Mako, it also counted a number of 854 GC believers living in the localities from the department of Bekes (Bánfáivá, Bekes, Csaba, Enrod, Gyúrna, Gyula, Kígyós, Koros-Ladany, Mezo-Bereny, Orosháza, Szamszon, Szarvas, Toth- Komlos), from the department of Csanad (Apátfalva, Földeák, Kis- Kiralyhegyes-Lele) and from the department of Csongrad (H.M. Vásárhely, Szeged, Szentes)23. This situation explains why in choosing the partner the confession and the ethnicity meant less than in other places. The ratio on sexes ofpreference for mixed marriages: men (30.5%), women (69.5%). The District of the Archpriest of MADARAS (Madarasiensis) 19 Ibidem, p. 191-197; I. At Dijir, the GC/O marriage is with a girl from Petreu, the GC/HC marriage with a girl from Marghita and the RC/GC one with a boy from Marghita (DOSS 494/1908, f. 19; 496/1910, f.24; 497/1913, f.71). At Marghita, the HC/GC marriage is outside the locality with a boy from Albis with a majority of HC population. There are 2 GC/O marriages here with girls from Abramut (of O confession) (DOSS 493/1907, f.56; 494/1908, f. 19). 21 *** Schematism..., p. 168-175. 22 Ibidem, p. 175. 23 Schematism..., p.172-173.
