The district of the archpriest of ERIU (Ermellekiensis) The district of the archpriest of Eriu had 8 parishes situated on one side at the limit between the departments of Satmar and Bihor and on the other side at the Romanian-Hungarian border. The structure of the population, 41.1% of GC confession (an insignificant number of O), 35.21% RC and 17.63% HC, determined a very high and with few exceptions intra­confessional marital behaviour. There was registered only one mixed marriage. The ratio on sexes ofpreference for mixed marriages', men (100%). The district of the archpriest of HOLOD (Holodiensis) The district of the archpriest of Holod had nine parishes (Bicanesti, Dragesti-Ceica, Dumbravita Mica, Gruilung, Holod, Mocear, Rogos, Sambata and Vintere) situated on the valley of Holod. With a structure of population in majority O (61.5%), GC (21.08%), HC (11.72%) and RC (3.53%) the region shows a natural behaviour in GC’s marital strategies. Even if the confessional determinism in choosing the partner is very high (only 3 parishes registered mixed marriages) the weight of these marriages in comparison to the total number of marriages in these 3 parishes represents 42%, much higher than the average in the diocese14. The ratio on sexes for preference for mixed marriages: men (55%), women (45%). The district of the archpriest of LET A MARE (Nagy-Letaiensis) The district of the archpriest of beta Mare had 10 parishes situated in the departments of Bihor, Heves and Jaz-Nagy-Cun-Szolnok. The characteristic of these parishes is the fact that they cover a very large region and with only a few GC believers, who, in most cases, included only a few families and were spread in 43 branches. The confessional and ethnic structure of the population is entirely particular in comparison to the other districts (exception the District of the archpriest of Mako). The population of GC 14 At Dicanesti, two GC boys got married outside the community with girls from an O village, Stracos. At Sambata, 4 GC/O marriages are outside the community but in the region of the parish (at DuSesti, Dobresti and Rotaresti) (DOSS 487/1900, f.38; 494/1908, f.45; 496/1910, f.28).
