Mireasă Молода Menyasszony Bride both holding the kerchief from its cross ends, marking the moment of their coming together for ever. The kerchief would also be a symbol of the girl’s passing from one social category to another, namely from being a girl to the married woman, through the symbolic gesture made by the godmother when she would cover the crown of the bride with a special kerchief made for the ritual. Moreover, the kerchief occurs in several aspects during the wedding ceremony that would symbolize the connection between the two young to be married. The wedding suits, dedicated to one of the most important moments of life, were the climax of creativity and talent, the most beautiful embroideries, the most beautiful beads and necklaces decorating the bride and groom. The coronet and the “brides ponytail” are unique in the Romanian rural tradition, and were real masterpieces made with hard-work and skill. The brides “preparations” would take between 5 and 12 hours, while the girl’s hair was plaited in a unique tail, but the making of the coronet, beads necklaces, flowers or the money necklace took 60- 70 days of work.
